“What do you mean she’s disappeared?” I stared down at the crying maid who knelt on the floor and the guard kneeling beside her, “you were supposed to guard and protect her.”
“She said she was hungry and sent me to go get her food, ” the maid sobbed, tears streaming down her face, “she was gone by the time I got back. I’m so sorry, Alpha.”
“Why didn’t you report it immediately?” I narrowed my eyes at her. “If what you’re saying is true, then she must have been missing for close to an hour already. Where were you in all that time?”
“I-I thought she was bathing.” The maid said, a fresh wave of tears running down her face. “I only got up to check when I realized she’d spent too much time inside the bathroom.”
