Elena POV
My mouth went dry all of a sudden and I asked in a hollow voice. “What’s the public opinion like? What are they saying?”
“Well,” he ran his hand through his hair and started pacing the room, “most of them believe our statement, but there are a few that are being very loud about their skepticism.
From the way they’ve been sounding, and how organized they are, we strongly suspect they might be in league with the team of rogues who attacked us. We’re currently working on tracking them down too. Maybe they can lead us to whoever sent them.”
I nodded mutely, suddenly feeling like I was about to be sick.
He must have seen the fear on my face because his voice immediately softened, “you don’t have to be afraid Elena. Whatever comes up, I can handle it. I’ve dealt with far worse.”
