Elena POV
“Tell me?” He asked softly, his eyes searching mine. “I can’t help you if I don’t know what’s wrong.”
“You can’t help.” I wanted to scream at him.
All the while, I’d thought I was playing along to his game, that whenever he decided he was done with me, I could easily leave without looking back.
But the only person I’d been fooling, was myself.
Only myself.
“Elena.” He groaned, his voice sounding like it was miles away. “Talk to me.”
I had scorned my mother for waiting so long for a mate that never came back but I realized something in that moment that scared me a lot.
I would wait too.
If it was Draven I was waiting for. I would wait a thousand, no ten thousand nights if I could. As long as I had breath in my lungs, I would wait.
I wouldn’t have a choice in the matter.
