Elena POV “She’s waking up.” I heard a voice say just as I forced open my eyelids. They felt heavy, like they had been glued shut, and I blinked multiple times to regain focus. When my eyesight finally cleared, it was to find three unlikely faces peering down at me, identical expressions of worry on all of them. “Wh-What’s going on?” I asked, my voice coming out scratchy like sandpaper on glass. My head throbbed painfully as if someone had taken a hammer to it, knocked every part loose and then hurriedly glued it back on, not caring if a few pieces were missing. “Where am I?” “How do you feel?” A voice asked as someone helped me sit up. “Like I’m about to die.” I said, holding my hand to my head as I turned to thank them only to find golden eyes staring intensely at me. Draven.
