‘Just go.’ A thought crossed my mind. Who knew if he was going to tell me the truth anyway?
I can’t believe a word out of someone like him who made a joke out of everything.
“Do you really want to die without knowing why?” His voice was strained. The first real sign of emotion he’d shown all day.
Against my better judgement, I turned away from the door slowly and faced him, “tell me.”
