The hall fell silent, every single person present obviously shocked by his words, even those who had previously expressed support for him.
“What did you just say?” I growled, my claws itching beneath my skin. If I didn’t have full control over my wolf, I would have shifted already.
Kane smiled, raising his head high, “you said it yourself, Alpha.
I’ve determined that his sister is a key witness in order for me to defend myself.”
His voice trembled in false fear, “you aren’t going to take back your word now are you?” He spread out his arms, “in front of the Alpha’s council?”
“How bold,” a claw popped out and I dragged it down the arm of the chair I was sitting on, letting out a screeching sound as bone met metal, “you dare to mock me with my own words?”
