My eyes widened as I gaped at Draven, “He’d been saving it for himself.”
“Yes,” he agreed, “that’s why he only chose fifteen more warriors. The potion was running out. From what we know of him, he likely had been watching to see if there would be any negative effects before taking it.
But his hesitation became his undoing in the end.”
A knock sounded on the door and both our heads immediately swung towards it. In one smooth movement, Draven got up to answer it.
“We found something Alpha,” a muffled voice sounded from the door , “Magnus said you might want to see it.”
Less than five minutes later, we were in a remote corner of the garden, crowding round what looked like a young deer.
