Unconcious

Alpha Cameroon had to leave halfway through the meeting he was handling. Lakisha sounded worried on the phone, and he didn't wish to spend another minute at the office. As he rushed out of the office, Alpha Cameroon couldn't help but wonder what urgent matter had made Lakisha sound so concerned. He hoped that everything was alright and that he could provide the support she needed. He had already lost one daughter, who was now jailed, and he didn't want to lose his wife. He knew if that were to happen, he would lose not only his wife but another daughter as well. His heart raced wildly, thumping on his chest as if threatening to break his ribs apart as he planned to drive home, his mind consumed with thoughts of the potential danger his family could be facing. The fear of losing another loved one weighed heavily on him, fueling his determination to protect and support them no matter what. He vowed to do everything in his power to ensure their safety and happiness, praying that this urgent matter would be resolved without any further harm. When Larissa was gone, it took a whole lot of visiting therapists for Lakisha to finally come to the conclusion that she wouldn't be seeing her sister in the next two years. He didn't wish to see her go back into that depression world once again. He knew how much Larissa's absence affected Lakisha's mental health, and he couldn't bear to see her suffer like that again. He made a promise to himself to be there for Lakisha every step of the way, offering his unwavering support and love during this difficult time, and that was why when she called, he was even ready to lose a deal but go to her. "Hello honey. I'll be home in the next ten minutes." He hung up and signaled his personal assistant to follow him out of the office. As he walked briskly towards the exit, he did everything he can to block the horrible thoughts threatening to overpower him. "Please take care of this meeting because there is an emergency at my home that I can't ignore," he asked his assistant. His assistant nodded understandingly and assured him that he would handle the meeting with the utmost professionalism. "Yes, Alpha Cameron." His assistant, Mr. Kaden, bowed slightly when he walked past Alpha Camaroon to go back to the office. "And yes, do record everything you guys will talk about and then send the video to me. I will watch it and see what you guys agree on, and if there are any important decisions that need my input, I will provide it remotely. It's crucial that I stay informed despite the emergency at home." Mr. Kaden nodded again, assuring Alpha Cameron that he would keep him updated and ensure his involvement in the decision-making process." After saying that, Alpha Camerron ran to the garage. "Where to, Alpha Cameroon?" His assistant asked when he saw him running back to his office. "Don't worry about me. I forgot my laptop in the office. I need it to stay connected and be able to provide my input remotely," Alpha Cameron replied quickly, grabbing his laptop from his desk. He knew that staying connected and having access to his laptop would allow him to stay involved in the decision-making process even when he was not physically present. As he hurriedly made his way back to the garage, Alpha Cameron couldn't help but feel grateful for the technology that allowed him to be productive and engaged no matter where he was. ''I'll be heading back home now. You can go back to the meeting room.'' he dismissed Mr. Kaden who bowed and walked back to the meeting room. The driver, who was standing beside the car, bowed when he saw Alpha Cameroon approaching and asked, Where will I be taking you today, Alpha?" He asked this while opening the back seat door for him. "Home, please." He motioned for his driver to get in and start the car. "And if you could speed, please," he said while looking at the notification that had dinged on his phone. It was good that he has always been a busy man, constantly juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities, so heading home and still working wasn't going to be hard stuff for him. As the car started moving, he quickly scanned the notifications on his phone, ensuring that he didn't miss any important updates or messages whilst the driver nodded in understanding and accelerated, navigating through the traffic with expertise. Alpha Cameroon leaned back in his seat, grateful for the efficiency of his team and the technology that allowed him to stay engaged no matter where he was. The notification he received was Mr. Kaden's. He was video-calling him. He accepted the call and sat there, listening to his assistant as he tried to strike a deal with an investor. As the conversation progressed, Alpha Cameroon's mind began to wander. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in his team's ability to handle important matters in his absence. With a quick glance at his phone, he realized he had received another notification, reminding him of an upcoming meeting that required his attention. "We are here, Alpha Cameroon." His driver's voice jolted him off the phone. He quickly pocketed his phone and stepped out of the car, grateful for the reminder from his driver. "Uh, yes," he nodded while getting out of the car. At the same moment, Mr. Kaden from the other end ended the call because the meeting was over. They had secured the deal. He couldn't help but feel a surge of relief and satisfaction. The countless hours of preparation and negotiation had paid off, and he knew that this success would have a significant impact on his career. ''Congratulations, Alpha Camerron!" His driver, who had overheard the ongoing meeting while driving, congratulated him, a genuine smile covering his face. "Thank you, Mr. Harrison, and yes, do wait for me here in case I need to go somewhere," he told his driver while rushing into the house. While entering the house, Alpha Camerron's mind raced with thoughts of how this achievement would elevate his professional standing and open doors to new opportunities. He couldn't wait to share the news with his family and celebrate this milestone together. "Honey," he called while walking toward the room he shared with Karina. "Honey, I am home," he called, but got no response. The echoes of his own voice were what reached him, causing him to feel a sudden fear. "Strange!" he murmured while closing the door behind him. As he walked further into the room, he noticed that it was unusually quiet, and Karina's outdoor belongings, which were always lying on the couch, were nowhere to be seen. A sinking feeling settled in his stomach as he realized that she was not there. "She must be taking a shower," he thought while walking to the bathroom. She found Karina sitting in the bathtub, passed out. The water in the tub had turned cold, and her skin was pale. Panic surged through him as he quickly checked for a pulse, relieved to find a faint one. Without wasting another moment, he gently tapped her unusually swollen cheeks to wake her up, but she remained unresponsive. He lifted her from the water and dried her body. He went ahead and applied some ointment to the wounds on her neck and chest and dressed her in a clean outfit. "Mr. Harrison, call the doctor now!" He called his driver, who nodded from the other end, although Cameroon couldn't see him since they were on the phone. He carefully cradled her in his arms, feeling a sense of urgency. He whispered reassuring words to her, hoping she would regain consciousness soon. As he waited for the doctor's arrival, he kept a watchful eye on her, determined to do whatever it took to ensure her well-being. "Dad, my god, what happened?" Lakisha asked while standing at the door. She was coming back when she overheard her father's driver conversation on the phone. She rushed into the room, her eyes wide with concern. She immediately noticed the worry etched on her father's fac. She travelled her gaze around and caught her pale mother lying on the bed. Without waiting for an answer, she hurried to her mother's side, holding back tears as she gently touched her mother's hand. While driving in, she met her father's driver at the gate and asked if her dad was already home. When the driver got the phone call, she asked him who he was talking to because she couldn't hear who was on the other end, and that was when Mr. Harrison told him that her dad was asking him to call a doctor. She immediately had a hunch that her mother might be in some sort of trouble. Her heart raced with worry as she wondered what could be wrong with her mother. Thoughts of the potential increase in what her mom was going through before she left flooded her mind, intensifying her sense of urgency to reach her mother's side. She practically ran to her room, only to find her that way. "I don't know, honey. I found her like this, in the bathtub," her father sighed while pinching the bridge of his nose, jarring her from her thoughts. "I'll call an ambulance." She took out her phone and dialed an emergency number. "There is no need, Miss Lakisha; I am already here." A tall, middle-aged man in a white coat stood at the doorway, his calm demeanor contrasting with the chaos that had engulfed the room. He introduced himself as Dr. Martinez, a neighbor who happened to be a doctor and had heard what had happened. Dr. Martinez quickly assessed the situation and calmly instructed Lakisha's father to support her while he examined her. As he checked her vital signs, he assured them that he would do everything in his power to provide the necessary medical assistance. "What's wrong with her doctor?" Lakisha asked the doctor the moment he was down examining her. Dr. Martinez looked at Lakisha with a reassuring smile and said, "Lakisha, I need to run some tests to determine exactly what's going on. It's too early to say for sure, but I promise you that I will do my best to figure it out and help her feel better." "I know that, but by looking at her, what do you think is the problem?" She insisted, the glow in her eyes fading away. Dr. Martinez paused for a moment, carefully considering his response. "Based on my initial examination, there are a few possibilities that could be causing her symptoms. However, without the results of the tests, it would be premature to draw any definitive conclusions. Rest assured, we will get to the bottom of this and provide the appropriate medical assistance." "You said based on your initial examination, there could be a few possibilities that could be causing her symptoms. What are the possibilities?"She asked while ignoring her father's suggestion, who kept on asking her to wait until the test results came out. "She is under a lot of stress. These marks on her face and neck I can't say there are due to self-harm or not but please, make sure she relaxes a much as possible,” the doctor said and then prescribed some anti-depresants. “With these, she will feel better and if she continues behaving like you earlier described, please do take her to a phycological doctor.“Upon hearing that, the doctor excused himself to go because he was about to go to the hospital when Mr.Harrison told him there was an emergency. “Mother, are you okay?“ Lakisha rubbed her mother's already wrinkled forehead who was still unresponsive.
