Chapter 13
“Siri, get up. Siri!” I came to, Rose shaking my shoulders desperately. “Oh, thank the gods. Siri, something is happening up there. We need to check on the rest of the group.”
“But Holly-”
Rose looked at me grimly. “Holly isn’t going anywhere. We’ll get her home safely, I promise. But we need to see what’s going on.”
The wind was picking up and a tree branch above us cracked ominously, bringing me back to my senses.
“Alright, let’s move!” I grabbed her hand and we ran towards the road. When we got near the top of the hill we veered towards the Scout, hiding behind it while we scanned the scene on the dark freeway.
