(PETE’S POV) There was no feeling like the one that I was feeling now. I wanted to kick at something, scream loudly, jump up and down. But I could not. I had stolen out of the house and I was planning on sneaking right back in. I had gotten into my house and I had gone past the hallway. I was just starting my way up the stairs when the house that had been dark suddenly became bright. Someone had turned on the lights and that someone was mum. “What are you smiling about?” Her voice came. She stood looking at me dressed in her house robe and carrying a suspicious look on her face. I have a nervous chuckle like a kid who had been caught stealing cooking from a cookie jar. “Hey Mum.” I greeted coming back down from the few stairs I had just climbed and going to stand in front of her.
