“Please forgive me,” I said again. I am not sure if my words still make sense to him right now or not. But I still need to say these things for the sake of my inner peace. “It’s not your fault,” Renan answered. His voice now is a bit rough from the usual voice that he had when we are just kids. “The two of you can talk later. Right now, we should prioritize our safety,” Megan suddenly buts in. Renan’s eyes traveled beside me where he saw Anna. I can see a hint of resentment in his eyes. “Who is she?” He asks Megan. “I am not an enemy,” Anna defended herself. Renan abruptly approaches Anna and firmly held her right arm as if he is strangling it. I clearly saw how Anna found it uncomfortable and painful as her face twitches because of how Renan firmly grasps her arm.
