“ Well then, I best be going. Thanks you guys.” Benny sat up, and hugged the two. “ Just call us up when you need anything, kay?” Margo insisted.
“ Thank you. I will” Benny held Margo’s hands.
“ We’re here for you Benz” Lyn patted his shoulders.
“ Lyn, I can set you up tomorrow. Is three o’ clock good?”
Lyn smiled and, hugged the two. After saying goodbye, Margo and Lyn walked back to the campus. It started to rain again, luckily for them, Margo had bought an umbrella big enough for the two of them. As the raindrops became heavier and heavier as they approached the front entrance of main wing, they saw large groups of students either making their exit, or seeking for cover under anything.
“ Hey, goin’ on?” Lyn asked.
“ Classes are suspended, they’ve just announced it.” A passerby informed them.
“ Thanks.”
“ And we just got here.” Margo groaned.
“ Hey, wanna binge watch at up and cozy up with some coffee?” Lyn offered gleefully. The two looked at each other and smiled.
“ Let me just pee real quick.” Lyn said. Margo groaned once more as they made their way inside the main wing. It was almost fully abandoned by then, except for a few stragglers who decided to loiter in the vacant rooms. Their footsteps echoed throughout the hallways, accompanied by the white noise outside. This gave Margo an uneasy feeling. It’s like listening to an eerie beat. Margo found herself in the similar situation once more, a little tinge of panic brewed inside her, but this time was different, she wasn’t alone.
They went up to the second floor, both of them had always believed that; the higher the floor, the neater the bathrooms are. So, without talking on the way, they found themselves locked on the path to the nicest bathroom there is.
On the second floor, they heard faint music playing in the background. Not actually paying it attention, they pressed on. Passing a few offices here and there, the music became more and more louder. It was coming from the dean’s office, with her door slightly opened. They looked at each other and both agreed on, walking slowly as they pass the office. They wanted to see what was going on inside, but not to make themselves too obvious.
When they passed, the pair, made their best to look through the opening of the door, They saw, Sandra and a mountain of paperwork. Nothing out of the ordinary. When they reached the ladies room, Lyn went ahead and did her business. Margo, looked at herself at the mirror; and thought she looked stressed. And decided to wash her face with cold water.
The place suddenly went pitch black. She called for Lyn, for anyone, but no one was answering her. Margo used the flashlight on her phone to see. She appeared to be alone in the bathroom. Out of panic she opened every stall, no one was there. Until, she made the mistake of pointing her light at the mirror. At first she wasn’t paying attention, she was frantically texting Lyn.
Then, she saw him. A shadow of a man, was behind her. Margo felt this familiar terror as the dark figure, stared at her, with two glowing sulfuric eyes.Fight or flight, kicked in, and she bolted right out of the ladies room.
Cold sweat began to permeate from her, as she tried her best to pace her breathing.
“ Hey, What happened back there?” Lyn asked, as she shortly followed her to the hallway. “ You okay?”
“ uh-yeah. I’m good.” Lyn did not believed her. She gave a worried look and placed her hand on her shoulders, “Hey, let’s go home.” She smiled.
A loud ruffling of plastic was heard startling both of them. It was Sandra, throwing something out into the garbage bin outside. She was startled as the two. “ Classes are suspended due to the weather, you guys aren’t supposed to stay here.”
The two responded courteously and left. Sandra, watched the two as the walked away.
