I had been expecting her to show up but when she did it was like all the air left my lungs.
How was it possible that she could do that just by walking into a room? I tried not to stare at her but I just couldn’t help it.
Chloe has paused in the door way, a step or two behind Delilah and Double. And it was obvious to see how nervous she was. It flickered across her face for just a second and then she seemed to shake her self. Her shoulders straightened , her chin lifted and in a blink of an eye she was back to being my confident Chloe again.
That was a good thing. It was too tempting to go to her when she looked nervous.
