Anna's POV

It was a rainy night, I was everywhere slippery and wet. My family depended on me to get them food, but I couldn't enter the rain just like that I waited confidently for the rain to stop, but it was like of it hadn't wanted me to step an inch, but really I needed to go get them something to eat, but I cannot just sacrifice my health.

They cried so deeply of hunger but seeing them I would have mercy on them, so the rain stopped a little. I had to take an umbrella to move out and go get them something to eat. I went to the rain. I entered the market and saw a small store beside me, so I went there to buy food for them so they could eat something that night. Furthermore, I ordered food and when I looked behind me, I saw my high school friend Skyler. “Wow Skyler, what are you doing here?” I asked when she looked at me.

“ Anna what a coincidence I never believed I could see you here, so what are you doing here if I may ask? ”

“I just stopped by here to wait for the rain to go down before I move” Skyler answered

“What about you, what are you doing in this area and I see you are buying cheap food” she said a little insultingly to me.

“I live around here I knew while saying that she would be so curious to know the reason I am leaving here I haven't gotten a job yet, but I work as a part-time waiter in a restaurant” I replied her

“wow well I work in a big company. I thought you have been a billionaire by now but don't worry okay you still have job”

“thank you for the assurance so how have you been and Where do you stay now” I asked

I couldn't believe it. I was so caught up in our conversation chatting and smiling with Skyler that I completely lost track of time and then out of nowhere I remembered that I was supposed to be buying food for my family's dinner. I quickly said goodbye to Skyler and rushed to the market.

As I was Crossing the streets I wasn't paying attention to the traffic and suddenly I saw a truck barrel down on me. I froze in shock and was unable to move out of the way. The truck was just inches away from me and I felt fear in me. The next thing I knew everything had turned to black, Skyler was kneeling beside me holding my hands and looking at me in concern. “ Anna, are you okay ? That was a close call!”

I nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. Y-yes i'm fine just a bit shaken up Skyler helped me stood up and saw I was bleeding at my forehead she had to take me to the hospital for treatment I was so weak to Know what really was happening to me I was on a bed and was unconscious because I had so much pain at the area where I hitted my Head.

Suddenly I heard some voices saying. “ what really happened to her ” even with my weakness I must say the man asking those questions was the doctor he wore a white garment which looked like a lab coat. Then Skyler answered him and said, “She was almost knocked down by a truck with the shock. She dived at a corner of the street and hit her head at the bar so she was bleeding. That was why I had to bring her to the hospital.

As the doctor turned and faced my direction I saw a hint of concern vin his eyes. He quickly administered some injections to me which I assumed were to help me calm down from the shock of the accident. At first, I felt a slight sensation from the needle, then a warm sensation went through my body. As the medications took effect, I saw Skyler vet worried she was whispering some encouraging words to my ear, I saw the hospital room, the beeping machines and the sterile white words.

I could still wonder if I was almost knocked by a truck or what's it just a dream but it was reality. I could see the truck ci e towards me but couldn't do anything About it.

“ she would have to take some rest here at the hospital okay if you want to stay with her it's okay because it is night now and everywhere May be dangerous for you to go home” the doctor said facing to Skyler.

“yeah I would just have to stay with her okay” Skyler replied.
