Chapter 11

275 Words
After learning about Charlie and Abigail's past, my first action was to investigate Abigail and the Hill family. The Hill Group is a powerful enterprise, currently led by a strong-willed and iron-fisted leader. He is unmarried, with one son and one daughter. The son is a renowned artist, and the daughter is an exceptional ballet dancer. Honestly, I envy Orlin and Abigail. Their father encourages them to pursue their dreams instead of forcing them to take over the Hill Group. But who will take over the Hill Group when he retires? Charlie's vigorous pursuit of Abigail certainly considers this. If Charlie thought of it, how could I not? Before marrying Charlie, I flew to Brussels to see Orlin's art exhibition. He painted many moons hanging in the forest, beautiful yet incredibly lonely. That evening, after returning home, Orlin frequently texted me. He often sent a few messages from time to time, to which I actively responded. Most of our conversations revolved around art, particularly his works. Painting was Orlin's passion; he was a remarkable painter and deeply obsessed with it. A few days later, he invited me to visit his studio. He told me that he wanted to paint a portrait of me. I declined, "Sorry; I have a date today." I asked my friend Lancy, a very handsome and muscular man with tan skin, to pretend to be my date. We drank at a bar. At midnight, I received a message from Orlin: "Aren't you back yet?" I directly sent him the address. My friend had left. I sat in the bar late into the night, drinking glass after glass. At 00:40, Orlin arrived.
