Our madness lasted all night. The next morning, Orlin prepared breakfast for me. Bacon, eggs, and bread, accompanied by a glass of orange juice. Orlin gave me a kiss and told me to eat breakfast. I stayed in bed for a while, but when I reached the dining room, Orlin was not there. Orlin stood in my study room, staring at the painting on the wall. It was his work, depicting a deer in the forest under the moonlit night. I bought it three years ago at an art exhibition. Orlin softly said, "I have always been curious who bought this painting. It is my favorite work. The gallery told me the buyer was a young woman who did not leave her name." I replied, "I was already engaged to Charlie back then." Orlin gently kissed me, "Leila, let me paint a picture for you." I couldn't help but laugh, "Orlin, you don't say this to every girl, do you?" He said, "No, you are different." I knew I was the only girl among his admirers who understood his paintings. But that wasn't enough. If I wanted to enter the Hill Group, I needed more than Orlin's love. I needed a child.
