Chapter 2 Lost in the darkness

Amber's POV's

Our love story begins with the bullies, Noah is my senior in highschool. Because the smoothie on his shoes that day cost me a lot of trouble at school.

I remember exactly his gaze towards me and saying,

"What is your last wish?"

His eyebrows lowered and pulled closer together. his eyelids became squinted and made his eyes bulge, his lips tighten or curl inwards. The corners of his mouth point downwards. his jaw tense and juts forward slightly. I could tell that this was the kind of expression when someone is full of anger but why?

"What do you mean, could you please at least help me up first before you asking me a stupid question?"

Without saying words, he pulled my hand to help me up and then suddenly he let go of my hand without warning.

I was so shocked and i almost fell back down but then he caught my waist and slowly his face came closer to mine, i thought he was gonna kiss me but no, he just whispered in my ear and said :

"You better wish that God will protect you from me" He pulled back his face with a smile and a wink at me after saying those words. And you know what the worst part is, that he's just letting go of my waist and watching me fall back down so badly on the floor, luckily I'm landing on my bump and my bumps saves me from getting my tailbone break. What an ass, I'm so pissed at him that day ugh...

And of course Emma will help me up, she's got my back as always, she's dealing and fighting with her brother for me, she is always on my side and because of her relationship with him has never been good anyway so yeah I'm lucky that I've still got her on my side to protect me and be there for me.

After that smoothie incident, I've suffered the whole week of school just to get bullied over and over again. That's why he told me to ask for God's protection from evil like him ugh.

Well he is freaking rich, living in a mansion, driving Lamborghini, surrounded by the hottest girls, and doing whatever he wants. He's the goddess at school but for me he's just a freaking spoiled brat who ruins my life and destroys my inner peace at school. But not for long until he fell in love with me.

Everything began in the summer of 2018, he's so unpredictable and mysterious but to be honest he's gorgeous, there's no doubt about his beauty. His blue eyes, tan skin, beautiful smile, perfect muscular body, everything seems too good to be true. No wonder why every girl loves him including me except for his bad behavior like bullying me for fun is not cool at all which drives me crazy, until one day when we are all students going camping together in the mountain area. We had to hike and walk through the jungle so far until we reached our camp site.

On my way for a hike, i saw him walking behind me, my heart beat faster. I wonder what else he would do to me this time in the wild and open space like this, it would be so scary for sure if he set a trap for me like the poachers hunting animals in the jungle, or maybe pushed me down the cliff and it's quite high by the way. Ugh however those terrible things would never happen to me this time. I am done for being a coward, this time i won't let them bully me ever not here not at school not everywhere.

In the middle of the way, i am surrounded by the trees, i can smell the sharp sweet and refreshing pine tree around me, it feels good to be here, this was the best place for a retreat from the city, get a way from the crowd, breathe in the fresh air and no more pollution. i decided to stop for a bit and take some rest. I'm exhausted and it's my first time going hiking. My throat is drying and I couldn't even taste my saliva in my mouth so I take a sip of my water and my bag pack is quite heavy. I saw a few students pass by but i decided to chill for a while and sit down under the pine tree. After a few minutes resting my legs then i finally fell asleep, Once I woke up I saw that the sky was gloomy and the sun went down. But i see nobody but me, what am i gonna do here alone in the middle of nowhere. I do have the map on my hands but it was too dark to see it. I wish that Emma would be here to help me up like always but unfortunately today she couldn't make it to go camping with us because she was hospitalized after falling down from the stairs and getting her legs injured, so for that reason i am ended up alone here, all my friends leaving me just like that and none of them even bother to waking me up what an ass ugh I'm so angry.

"God what am i supposed to do, where should i go please guide me, protect me and don't let any tiger or other animal eat me. Don't let me die here, not now not before I get married, have a good life and family. Please amen". With my racing heartbeat i moved forward and kept going to find a way to our campsite, i just follow my heart and leave it to God wherever it is i will find it and i won't be scared as long as i have Gods with me, i believe in God's protection and keep praying.

After a few minutes of walking, The sky was ablaze with the fire of the setting sun. I felt someone was walking right behind me but then when I turned my back there was nobody except for the trees. It's so frustrating being lost in a place like this all alone. I'm hopeless and my phone is also useless because there's no signal here at all and the battery is gonna be off anytime soon.

The sky is getting darker, Suddenly I stopped walking, this time I'm pretty sure that there is someone behind me and i feel horrified, at the moment i turned my back around.

"Boo"

I scream out loud, I'm totally shocked by his appearance straight on my face in the dark with the flash on illuminating his face and trying to scare me. It's Noah again and he laughed at me afterwards, so annoying. But i don't know why i feel so relieved that he was here with me in this kind of situation, at least i won't be alone anymore.

And luckily tonight the night sky was aglow with bright city lights. The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. I looked up at the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity and we walked side by side.
