No Longer Afraid (Complete)

The Rescue

          Sadie looked away. She could barely look at him. “Aren’t you going to say ‘thank you’?”, William asked as he sat across from Sadie. She remained quiet, staring down at the table. William sighed as he crossed his legs, becoming increasingly frustrated. “I’m talking to you.”, he stated. Sadie said nothing. “Speak!”, he shouted causing Sadie to jump. “You said I had to have dinner with you. You said nothing about talking.”, she said through gritted teeth. William was about to get up and walk over to Sadie when servants suddenly appeared with their food. “You are trying my patience, my dear. I’m trying to be good but you are making it hard.”, he said as he received his plate. Saide scoffed as she received hers. They then began to eat.

           William stared at Sadie as she picked at her food. “It’s country fried steak, your favorite.”, he said with a smile. Sadie sighed aloud. “I’m not hungry.”, she said as she pushed her plate away. William gritted his teeth and rubbed his knuckles. “Sadie, eat.”, he said  in an irritated tone. Sadie sat back in her chair and crossed her arms. “What do I have to do, huh? I bring you to an island, I buy you expensive clothes, I hire some of the best chefs in the world to cook for you. What will it take for you to accept me?”, he asked gently. Sadie looked over at him, making eye contact for the first time all night. “Do you really want to know?”, she asked. William leaned in, clasping his hands together. “I do.”, he said. Sadie smiled softly, causing William to do the same. “There is one thing you can do and I will finally accept you.”, she said. William nodded, eyes twinkling in expectation. Sadie leaned in close to him and gently cupped his cheek. William bit his lip suggestively and leaned into her touch. “What I want for you is...for you to be locked up in prison for the rest of your miserable life!”, she shouted as slapped him across the face. “I will never accept you, William! You took everything for me! My peace of mind, my innocence, my dignity! I wasn’t able to sleep for weeks because of you! Now, you kidnap me and force me to be here with you, asking me to love you again?! You never loved me and I will never love you! My heart will always belong to Anrian and there is nothing you can do to change that, you worthless, despicable, garbage of a human being!”, she yelled in a fiery rage. A stiff silence rested in the banquet hall before it was gradually filled with William’s cackling. 

           Sadie slowly backed away from him. His eerie laughter shook her to her soul. He was snapping. “Oh, Sadie, you shouldn’t have done that.”, he said as he slowly stood up. Sadie trembled where she stood. Her feet wouldn’t move as if they were glued to the floor. She couldn’t scream or move her body at all. She was completely frozen with fear. William grabbed her chin roughly bringing her face close to his. “You will never see him again. Do you understand? You are mine. I suggest that you forget about him.”, he said, fuming with anger. Sadie panted heavily in his tight grasp. “Say it. Say you love me.”, he demanded as he held a steak knife to her cheek. Sadie whimpered and squeezed her eyes shut. “Look at me!”, he shouted. Sadie forced her eyes open and looked up at William. “Say you love me.”, he repeated. “I...I love you…”, she breathed with tears streaming from her eyes. “Like you mean it.”, William said as he pressed the knife into Sadie's cheek, drawing blood. She yelped and begged William to stop, telling him over and over again that she loved him. William chuckled deeply and put the knife away. “Good girl.”, he said as he wrapped a hand around her waist. Sadie cradled her sore jaw as tears continued to stream from her eyes. “Look at me.”, he demanded again. Sadie cautiously looked up at him again. “Behave and that will never happen again. Understand?”, he asked. Sadie nodded slowly. William grinned down at her, hugging her close to himself. He stroked her cheek tenderly and kissed her. She wept quietly as he kissed her over and over again. With every touch of their lips, she missed Anrian terribly wishing that it was him instead of William that was kissing her right now. She wanted to be in Anrian’s arms again. She wanted to hear his laugh, see his smile, and play pool again with him. “Anrian...I’m so sorry.”, she thought as William deepened the kiss.

          Anrian stared at the distant island that sat squarely on the ocean. The roar of the speed boat sounded loudly over his parents discussion that was going on behind him. All that concerned Anrian was that he had to find Sadie and rescue her no matter what. It had been one day too long, since Sadie had been kidnapped and Anrian was becoming restless. He needed to find her, but before long they were upon the island. He stopped the boat in a cave on the rocky side of the island. He quickly docked the boat and climbed out. His parents quickly followed suit and unload all of their gadgets and equipment. Anrian’s father handed him a loaded glock and his scout rifle. Anrian tucked his glock in the back on his pants and carried the rifle across his midsection. His father and Melissa both had their own assorted weaponry and then began to invade William’s mansion. Anrian’s father led the two up the stairs of the mansion, shooting five of William’s guards on the way. He then motioned Melissa to take the lead once they came to the back door of the mansion. She used a device to hack the house’s security system, allowing them to make it through the house undetected. She then gripped her 9 millimeter strongly in her hands as she quickly yet carefully made it through the house. After shooting a group of William’s guards, they find themselves at a heavily guarded room. Anrian immediately thought that that might be Sadie’s room. He then patted Melissa’s shoulder, letting her know that he want to take the lead. She looked into her son’s eyes with concern. They had taught Anrian how to defend himself but not how to take a life. He gently smiled at his mother as he took a step out in front of her. Without even blinking, he shot all of the guards. He then continued on. He quickly kicked down the door to find Sadie, gagged and tied to a chair.
