The Egg Reborn

461 Words
The Egg Reborn Silence fell across the broken space. The shadow stood still, its form trembling as Amara’s words echoed through the darkness. The cracked Egg pulsed unevenly behind it, as if waiting… listening. “I am not whole,” the shadow said slowly, its voice no longer filled with rage, but something deeper—pain. Amara stepped closer, her glowing arm steady now. “Neither is the Egg,” she replied. “That’s why it’s breaking.” Kelechi watched nervously from behind. “Abeg, make this thing no change mind o…” The shadow looked at Amara. “For ages… I have been alone,” it said. “Cast away so balance could exist.” “And now balance is failing,” Amara said. “Because you were never meant to be gone forever.” The c***k across the Egg spread slightly again. Time was running out. Amara took a deep breath. “Come back,” she said, extending her glowing hand. “Not as destruction… but as balance.” The space trembled. The shadow recoiled slightly, uncertain. “If I return… I may lose myself.” Amara shook her head. “No. You will become whole.” A long pause followed. Then slowly… the shadow reached out. Its dark, shifting hand moved toward Amara’s light. Kelechi held his breath. “This is the moment…” Light and darkness touched. For a second—nothing happened. Then— A powerful surge exploded outward, knocking Kelechi to the ground. The space shattered into blinding light and deep shadow, twisting together like two forces finally remembering each other. Amara cried out as energy passed through her body. The shadow dissolved—not into nothingness, but into streams of dark light flowing toward the Egg. The c***k began to close. Slowly. Carefully. The Egg glowed brighter than ever before—no longer unstable, but complete. Balanced. Whole. Amara fell to her knees, breathing heavily as the light faded to a soft, steady glow. The darkness was gone. Not destroyed— But restored. Kelechi sat up, eyes wide. “We… we don't survive?” Amara looked up at the Egg, now floating peacefully. A calm voice filled the space—not loud, but everywhere. “Balance… has returned.” The world shifted. The forest reappeared. The broken gate was no longer broken. The Guardian stood quietly, then bowed its head. “It is done.” Amara smiled faintly, exhausted but at peace. The mark on her arm slowly faded… until it was gone. Kelechi laughed softly in disbelief. “So after all this… na finish be this?” Amara looked at the rising sun beyond the trees. “No,” she said gently. “Na beginning.” And together, they turned… and walked home.
