Ralphie was pointing to a corner tavern at the end of 88th Avenue, just three hundred feet from where they stood on the sidewalk. Jimmy checked his watch for time, saw it was nearing one thirty. So he ambled along with Ralphie, entering through the old wooden doors of a corner tavern called Neirs, almost as though by doing so they’d stepped back in time.
