“Mom,” Elias said in a warning tone, but she didn’t heed it at all. Instead, she stood and went out of the dining room with Alfie, ready to greet their guest.

His statement was cut off when a woman entered, wearing a very pretty emerald silk dress. She had black hair and green eyes just like mine; however, her clothes and accessories set us worlds apart. I turned to Elias once more, glaring at him from under my hood. I shook my head slightly and focused my gaze back on the food, stuffing my face to rid myself of guilt.
