When they got to Grant’s house, the detectives found everything in disarray on the ground floor. From the sight of things, someone had already searched the house from top to bottom, and James loathed the fact that they were late at the party once more.
The search started with the ground floor and the yard behind the house. Shorty divided his people into two teams. One team was set to collect the evidence inside the residence, so they began with the sitting room, which opened right from the small entry vestibule.
