I watched as the night sky was ablaze with color, white hot flames flickering from a bright yellow into that burnt orange tone. The smell of charred wood infiltrated my nostrils and watching from afar as if it were a huge bonfire. “You ready?” Octavia called. The transport was ready to take us to the nearest airport, a medivac had arrived courtesy of Rocky Mountain Pack to take Michael to their state-of-the-art pack hospital. The rest of us would be transiting the interstate to get to the nearest domestic airport. Then we would fly the rest of the way to Denver.
