Chapter two

CASSANDRA.

“Mate…” She mumbled as her eyes watered.

She couldn’t believe her sister’s fated mate, the one she thought was hers, was the one in front of her.

Many thoughts ran through her head, including whether her sister was also here with him. But then, if she were, she was sure she wouldn’t leave him alone with another woman.

“Did you hear me?” He asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.

“Do… Do… you want me to dance for you, Alpha Marcus?” She asked. His question didn’t register in her head until she had already voiced hers.

He leaned his elbow on the armrest of his chair as he stared at her.

“I asked you what you were doing here because I declined Dominic’s offer to send a woman to my bed. And yet you asked me if I wanted to see you dancing?”

She swallowed hard. He wasn’t smiling, but he didn’t look upset either.

In fact, even with a stoic expression on his face, he looked handsome, so handsome that she was willing to do whatever it would take to make him spend this night with her.

“I want to dance for you, Alpha. I have been practicing and… and… it will all go to waste if I can’t dance… for you. I have no one… to dance for.” She said, stuttering.

It was the truth. Vivian had her watch videos of sensual dancing and told her to practice them.

She didn’t.

She only pretended when she stayed and looked at what she’d been practicing on. But since she’d let the video run the whole time she was supposed to be practicing, she had memorized the moves, and she was hoping she could pull it off.

She only needed him to agree.

“Hmmm… Tempting. Can you dance well?”

“You can be the judge, Alpha.”

He didn’t say anything but kept looking at her. Despite the darkness of the room, she could see his jaw tightening as his eyes roamed her whole body.

She shifted on her toes, hoping he wouldn’t turn her away. She was skinny, and the only attractive part of her body was her breasts.

Despite losing weight, they remained full.

She didn’t wait for him this time. She slowly raised her hands above her head and began moving her body to dance. There was no music, no sound, just the loud beating of her heart, but it was enough for her to dance sensually in her own rhythm, doing her best to sway like how the women in the videos did.

He parted his legs, his expression remained devoid of any emotion, but not once did he take his gaze off her. It was enough to keep her confidence high.

In the last three years, she had never felt as seen as she did tonight.

And although this was wrong and not proper, she was basking in his attention.

“Closer…” He said in a raspy voice.

She didn’t understand what he meant, so she kept swaying her hips, still trying to understand what he said or if she heard him right.

“Come closer,” he said, motioning with his hand as he sat up straight, but he kept his legs apart.

She walked toward him while her heart drummed loudly, so loudly that it felt as if it would jump out of her chest.

She stopped and stood before him, right between his legs, and just as she was about to dance again, his hands gripped her waist, making her body jolt a bit forward.

She didn’t know what she was supposed to do next. All she knew was her knees were buckling, and if he didn’t take his hands off her, she might end up collapsing.

“Alpha…” She mumbled, panting as her hands found their way onto his arms, holding on to him tightly.

She was not able to say more when she felt his warm and wet lips touching the skin of her stomach before his tongue swiped up across her navel. And when she tilted her head down, he was looking at her as he continued to suck and lap on her skin.

Heat rose from her stomach up to her chest as sweat formed on her forehead. Her toes gripped the carpeted floor, and her hold on him tightened.

She didn’t even notice his hand moving until she heard her bra being unclasped from the front and eventually falling down to the floor.

She moaned as his mouth enveloped her breast while the other hand kneaded the other.

She couldn’t understand what she was feeling. All she knew was that something was dripping on her thighs, and she was sure she was not on her period.

It didn’t take long before he parted from her body and pushed her slightly backward before he stood in front of her. “Take my clothes off.”

With trembling hands, she did as she was told. She took her time, loving the way her hand brushed against his naked skin.

The moment Alpha Marcus stood naked in front of her, she lowered herself and dropped to her knees. Her hand coiled around his erection, but before she could begin, he reached for her ear. He was about to take off her veil.

“Alpha…” She held his hand. “Can we turn off the lights, please?”

She didn’t want him to know it was her.

She didn’t want him to stop whatever was about to happen between them. Because even though she had given up on life and her pursuit to find him, she still wanted to spend the night with him. Even if this was just a stolen moment.

She prepared for him to decline her request or be angered by it. But it didn’t come.

Instead, he turned slightly around and turned off the only lamp that was on.

And with the moon hiding behind the clouds, even if the windows were open, darkness clouded the room.

His groans resonated around her while she trembled as waves of pleasure rippled through her whole body. He continuously pounded in and out of her, his girth filling her up.

She was on all fours, moaning as she let go of her orgasm. Her hands gripped the sheets tightly, toes curling as her lashes fluttered. She had never felt this ecstasy before. And even if he was too big, bigger than her husband, she didn’t feel a tinge of pain, only gratification every time he would hit her wall, no matter how hard or gentle he did it.

It didn’t take long before a guttural growl ripped from his throat, echoing around the room. She felt warm liquid filling her up and eventually dripping out of her once he pulled out before his body collapsed beside her.

They lay motionless for a couple of minutes until she heard him snoring softly. He had fallen asleep. She couldn’t help the smile that curled on her lips.

She knew she should leave once he fell asleep, as she was instructed, but she couldn’t find it in her to leave him. Not yet.

‘Five more minutes.’ She mumbled to herself. “Then I will go.’ She scooted her body around his, her head under his armpit, while his arms rested on his forehead. He didn’t touch or hug her, but his warmth was enough to lull her to sleep.

‘Oh, Goddess!’ She yelled in her head when her senses came back. She fell asleep.

She snapped her eyes open, ready to bolt out of his room, but ended up staring at the deep, ocean-blue eyes looking at her.

He woke up before her.

“Alpha…” It was all she could say as she pushed her body and got out of bed. She grabbed her clothes and put them on without looking at him. She waited for him to say something, but he didn’t. Although she felt his gaze following her movements.

When she got her clothes back on, she grabbed the veil he had tossed on the floor and placed it back over her face before lowering her head. “I will leave now, Alpha.” It was all she could muster to say before she fled out of his room.

She didn’t have time to think about what he was thinking because she was in a hurry to return to the basement.

Offering her to Alpha Marcus as a gift was Vivian’s idea.

Dominic didn’t agree at first, but he was eventually swayed.

He then told her not to spend the whole night with the guest, or she would be punished.

She was used to punishment, but she always got the severe one if he was punishing her for being jealous, even if she never did anything except talk to another man.

She could only imagine what she would get if he realized she spent the whole night with Alpha Marcus.

She kept praying he wasn’t awake yet, but based on how high the sun was when she passed a window, she was sure he already was.

And she was not wrong. As soon as she turned to the corner of the basement where her small room was, she immediately saw her husband, standing outside of her bedroom with a belt coiled around his hand.
