Chapter Six Along The Nature Trail Late next morning everything was quiet. Warren and Julia were still sequestered; Maddy was sleeping the sleep of content and deep exhaustion and no way was I about to awaken any of them. Maddy and I had been up real late last night and at one point we both just collapsed. But I possessed the habit of an early riser, unless I had been going full pelt like yesterday morning when Warren showed up and just about kidnapped me to the mountains. So, after padding around the bedroom a bit I got up my courage, dressed, and struck out on my own a little, softly closing the door to allow Maddy some more shut eye.
