At independence park there were a lot of people, many rascals were seen with rascals on their heads; their scars made them look like they were carrying loads on their heads. They shook hands when the pleasures overwhelmed them, and were heard to speak many words that carried jokes and humor.
As their cheerful habit introduced them; humor and fun became part of entertainment. People held hands tightly as a sign of respect. Salted fish, chicken and sweets were mostly eaten in the field where celebrities from within and outside of Jamaica continued to give speeches and entertainment.
The artists went on stage with fanfare and banter, and came down after doing justice to the stage. But when it was James's turn on the stage, the celebrant shouted into the microphone apologizing to everyone in the stadium, he said, "James fell ill suddenly and has been rushed to the hospital, so let's all pray for him to be fine." people held their chests and frowned; those who cared spoke to God in their souls to heal James. Then DJ clicked the mouse and played a song that woke up the whole stadium, people jumped and sang the chorus together;
Oh! Today we enjoy the gift, that God has bequeathed us Jamaica,
This land is a gift given to my grandfather during s*****y in America,
Grandfather was happy to take care of Jamaica,
Jamaica is my pride, and I promise I will definitely take care of you.
It was a famous song sung by James, which combined the flavors of reggae music and the Swahili dances. His song mixed three languages; English, Portuguese and Swahili words.
This was due to the songs that Jame's father liked to listen to at home. Since James was a child he had been listening to those songs. He liked them and today his son uses those flavors in his work. In fact, the way a child grows is how he grows. When the song is sung, the people of that nation feel peaceful and happy to be citizens of Jamaica. The celebrant woke up the night of pleasure in independence park; while James was in critical condition.
