~Amber~
Immediately I saw him, something clicked inside me–as if I had known him for long.
As his lips crashed against mine, I felt something flutter in my stomach and my heart paced faster. His touch was intense, sending shivers down my spine as I leaned into the kiss.
Despite the tumultuous circumstances, I couldn't help but be captivated by the man standing before me. His presence exuded power and confidence. And I found myself admiring his commanding aura.
It was as if he held the key to unlocking a newfound strength within me.
At that moment, I realized he was the perfect ally in my quest for revenge against my Ex-husband.
As he pulled away from the kiss, he left me breathless and bewildered.
“Bare it in mind that there's no turning back,” he started.“For the last time, do you still want to be my surrogate” he whispered into my ears.
The question echoed in my mind, sending shockwaves through my already tumultuous thoughts.
His words hung heavy in the air and I felt my body succumb to his touch. Despite the tangled web of relationships between us–his connection to my ex-husband as his step-brother. I couldn't ignore the way I was feeling.
As I met his intense gaze, a surge of conflicting emotions washed over me.
It was a proposition fraught with complexity, yet beneath the layers of hesitation, I sensed a glimmer of opportunity.
This could be my chance to get back on my feet. To wield power over my fate.
With a steadying breath, I nodded, my voice barely above a whisper. "Yes," I affirmed, feeling a surge of determination coursing through me. "I'll do it.”
His gaze was fixed on Alex who was standing behind me. A tiny yet visible smirk playing at the side of his lip.
“Very well then,” He said and grabbed my hands.
Then he started walking out of the room. I turned back and saw Alex's gaze trailing behind me.
Hot and regretful tears streaming down his cheeks. His eyes filled with rage and hatred. I could feel his gaze drilling a hole in my back. If looks could kill, I'd probably be dead from the way he was glaring at me.
As we arrived at the lobby of the building. I bumped into someone–A woman.
“Watch where you–” Her statement was cut short as soon as she saw my face.
“Amber?” Her voice trembled, sounding strangely familiar.
She looked so shocked to see me.
“Do I know you?”
It was after I said these words that it hit me.
Her face and voice were indeed familiar. She was among the people I saw in the file. And this was the same voice I heard from the call record earlier.
Bianca–my so-called best friend.
The b***h who slept with my–It doesn't matter anymore. I am no longer married to Alex.
Just when I was about to leave, she said something. Something that intrigued and piqued my interest.
“Aren't you tired of ruining people's life?” She began. “Even after being in a coma, you still want to steal Alex away from me,” she said
My fist clenched by my side.I removed my hand angrily from his and moved a few steps towards Bianca.
I looked deep into her eyes in an intimidating way and said “I’m not here to cause trouble anymore,” And I watched her tremble as I glared fiercely at her.
Although I don't remember anything. I still feel the pain of her betrayal somehow. I guess it must have hurt me so badly. To the extent that I still feel a strange pain in my heart.
I don't know who I was back then, but I’m promising myself right now that I won't be foolish anymore. I'll consider this a second chance to fix my mistakes. Become stronger and never let any man use me.
“I and Alex are divorced already,” I began, “He is on his knees waiting for you, do well to console him.”
“What do you mean? He came here to divorce you.”She said.
“You are quite right,” I began. “But now, he's on his knees begging me to stay.” I said.
A sense of victory washed over me and I felt my lips twitching as if it was trying to form a perfect smirk. She was frozen in shock. She didn't expect my comeback–at least not this confident.
I turned to Alex's stepbrother and said. “Let’s go.”
He threw his arm around my waist and we started walking towards his car. I felt her gaze trail behind me as we walked away.
As the car pulled up in front of his mansion, my heart raced with a mix of fear and nervous anticipation.
The car rolled to a stop, and he turned to me with a sinister look on his face. His expression was stony and unreadable. As if he was about to do something bad to me.
“I hope you know what you're doing?” he asked. His voice is suddenly cold.
A ball of saliva was stuck in my throat and I swallowed hard. I nodded with a shivering body.
He smirked again before stepping out of the car. The way he smirks so often just within a couple of minutes scares me.
I walked hastily behind him as he walked into the building.
Immediately we got inside, he stopped abruptly and turned to me. My head collided against his chest and I yelped. It was as if I had collided with a wall.
“Here sign this,” He handed a paper to me.
“What’s this?” I asked, looking up to see his face.
He was taller and more intimidating than Alex.
“It’s a paper of agreement. I'm offering you a contract marriage.” He started. “This contract will last for five years.” He said.
Contract marriage?
“You have five minutes to think about it,” He began. “Anyways if you–”
“Hand it over,” I cut in.
My heart raced as I reached out to accept them. Knowing that by signing, I was committing to a unique and complex arrangement.
With a shaking hand, I took the pen and added any signature that came to my mind. Feeling the weight of the decision settle in as the ink dried.
The fact that I was divorced by my husband today and remarried by his Stepbrother, was amusing and disturbing.
I handed the paper back to him as soon as I was done.
“Now, strip!” He said all of a sudden. His voice sounded harsh and commanding.
“What?” I retorted.
“You heard me right,” He started. “I said strip,” He said. His voice is grave.
“No, I won't,” I argued.
“I’m guessing you didn't read the terms and conditions properly?” He said and I immediately flung the paper from him.
My eyes widened as I began to read through.
What have I done?
How can I be so foolish?
I signed an agreement paper without reading the terms and conditions.
“I’m horny, I want you to strip before me.” He said. Moving towards me.
I started moving backward away from him.
“Don’t come any closer,” I said and raised the pen to his neck. “It wouldn't be fair if I don't have my terms and conditions,”
He smirked, looking down at me. “What are your terms and conditions then?” He asked.
“I have to think,” I said.
“Do it now or else you have to sleep with me this instant.” He said and tried to move.
"Stay back," I hiss, my voice tight with urgency.
I stand there, pen trembling in my grasp, its tip poised dangerously close to his neck.
His frown deepens, anger flashing in his eyes as he meets my gaze.
“I said stay back, I'm not afraid of you.” I snapped.
