Lily smiled softly to herself. The healing was faster than expected, but perhaps it wasn’t all that surprising. After all, she was the Luna—her wolf blood, though dormant for now, was strong. The Moon Goddess must have smiled upon her in the night. She looked over to the other side of the room. Maya was curled up on the chair near the foot of Lily’s bed, fast asleep, her head tilted awkwardly, a throw blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Lily’s heart warmed at the sight. Maya had stayed up all night for her—checking her temperature, icing her ankle, whispering encouragements when Lily winced in pain. Lily moved quietly, not wanting to wake her. She tiptoed toward the small kitchen in the corner of the dorm, where a plate of eggs, toast, and sausages sat under a foil cover.
