His head was still blurred and his senses were impared from the massive amount of wolfsbane he had inhaled, yet Logan felt more alive than he had done in forever as he stepped on the cool moss and soil that covered the floor of the forest. It was the feeling of total freedom. He was free of his physical bonds, yes, but it was the mental shackles that had restrained him for years he felt mostly freed from. No more guilt, no more fear, and no more shame.
He had been running for hours before he had stopped to get some water and hunt. However, he had known for a long time by then that he was in the clear. The Harlows were furious and the others would either protect Lena or side with the Harlows, so no one had the time to hunt him down. He knew that. He had been told that before he had gotten too far to mind link, and though Logan hadn’t exactly planned for this from the beginning, he had taken the opportunity the moment he got it and now he was finally free. However, as he finally attacked the deer that he had stalked for some time, he didn’t feel the satisfaction inside of him that he had believed he would. The blood in his mouth wasn’t giving him the pleasure he had seeked. It settled his hunger, but there was another hunger inside of him that still gnawed. He growled lowly as anger started to fill him, because he didn’t want to admit what was making him so insatiable, yet the lingering smell of her hair and the haunting feeling of touching her skin was still as clear as it had been some hours ago, but the memory wasn't enough no matter how vivid it was. He still needed it, he still needed her and that made him curse within himself. He didn’t feel the loving tenderness towards her, and he didn’t care one single bit about her family or the other people she cared for, yet he wanted her more than anything. He wanted her in the most raw and animalistic way he could possibly want something just as he had wanted the fresh meat of the deer he was devouring. A smirk formed on his mouth which revealed his bloodied canines as he imagined devouring her in a way that would force her to be at his total mercy. Logan dwelled on his fantasies for some time before he roared himself back to the real world. She’s just a f*****g girl. We’ll get her eventually, and she’ll be at our mercy by then. But first… Logan needed to get to his destination if he wanted to gain what he had planned to gain, and he was intent on getting what he had planned. It was a question of mere weeks before the final fight would start, and he was going to be prepared.
A rustling sound that came from some nearby bushes made Logan turn with a snap. He was being watched, he could sense it, yet instead of getting nervous he got excited. Oh yes, let’s play. Before his stalker could understand what was happening, Logan had leaped into the bushes and attacked the other figure. A whine was heard as Logan bit down on the shoulder of a small, grey wolf. A rogue. Perfect. He fixed his eyes on the wolf as his teeth dug deeper, and the wolf soon turned into a scrawny, young man. The whines of a wolf were soon replaced by the screams of a person.
“Please, please, I surrender!”
Logan wanted nothing but to torture the young man, but something stopped him. A symbol Logan had seen before was tattooed on the man’s arm, and so instead of indulging in the delightful wanting of hearing the man beg for his life while experiencing the worst pain of his life, Logan pulled back. He stayed in his wolf form as he mind linked the young man.
“Take me to your master.”
The young man stared at Logan with wide eyes.
“I… I can’t. I don’t have a master, I’m just…”
“You have a master. I know that symbol on your arm, and I’m looking for the man who let you wear it. Now, you can choose to die in so much agony that you will curse your own parents for ever giving you life, or you can take me to him. I’ll find him either way, it’s only a question of what will happen to you. So I’ll count to five, and if you haven’t spoken by then, I’ll have some very needed fun with you, understand?”
The young man looked scared to the bones as he just stared at Logan.
“One… Two… Three… Fo…”
“Fine, I’ll take you. Please just don’t kill me!”
Logan huffed as he almost felt disappointed. However, getting shown the location would save him some much needed time. The young man got up from the ground, naked and covered in blood. He soon started to lump his way through the forest and Logan followed.
They had been walking for a little less than an hour before the young man stopped. He pointed at a hut as he spoke with a quivering voice.
“There, that’s where he’s hiding. Now…”
The man had barely shown Logan the place he was seeking, before Logan raised his paw. The shock in the young man’s eyes was overshadowing every other emotion as he squealed.
“No, wait!”
The blood splashed onto Logan as he opened the throat of the man. The man grabbed his throat, but there was nothing he could do. He fell to his knees at the same time that Logan finally changed back to his human form. Without the slightest hint of emotion, Logan shrugged as he spoke.
“Sorry about that.”
The life left the man’s eyes as Logan started to walk towards the place he had been running and looking for. He soon stepped onto the steps and opened the door with a force. He then saw the man that he needed to find, and he smiled a wicked smile.
“Hello, Topher. It’s good to see you.”
