Sebastian's POV
I walk into class. I am a little nervous, as it is our first test for the test series today. I know my work, but deep down, I am afraid. Not because if I do not do that great, I will be thrown off the team, but because I am afraid to let Lyra down.
I am used to not doing well, and everyone calls me stupid. What if I blank out? What if I cannot remember everything Lyra taught me? What if I am just stupid? It is maths today. I know I can do everything. Still, something is eating at me.
"Don't be nervous. Stay calm. Open your brain. I believe in you, Lyra."
I read the note that falls out of my book as I open it to look at my work one last time. I smile. Lyra knew I needed to hear that. I feel the confidence return.
