The Alpha hadn’t said a word. His eyes burned into me, unreadable and sharp, like a judge who’d already decided my sentence. The silence was so thick it felt as if the whole room was holding its breath, waiting for the verdict.
Then Trevor of all people rushed to my side. He tapped my arm gently as if we were in some sort of buddy comedy. I clenched my fists, resisting the overwhelming urge to glare at him so hard his soul would wither.
