And if the trampled weeds and garbage were any indication, it received just as much foot traffic as the cop suggested. He circled around the building until he found a ground level window with all the glass smashed. With the help of a milk crate, he climbed inside. There were at least three people in every room. Half of them were passed out or bordering on it, and most of them didn’t even seem to notice he was there or care that a stranger with a gun had just entered the building. He checked every room on the main floor before heading upstairs. It took more searching, but eventually, he found his quarry, sitting alone on the dusty floor and framed in weak sunlight from a nearby window. He didn’t notice
