  Chapter 9 Wes had a half day on the twenty-third, so it was up to Noel to walk Kirby in the morning after he got up. He took the big animal for a nice long walk, and despite his size, Kirby was fairly mellow, so it was at a sedate pace. Noel had to smile, though, as he approached Wes’ house once more to see the lawn decorations they had added. A Santa’s sleigh with reindeer that lit up, and a waving inflatable snowman. On the front door was the fresh wreath on which Noel had insisted, to which he had added little metal silver bells and a gold ribbon tied into a bow.
