“What was that, Papa?” Amara, a 3-year-old girl, asked her father. Her father was reading her a bedtime story while they were in her room. But there was something that drew her attention. Every time she heard those sounds, her ears moved. Her father took a breath after hearing what she had to say. Bernardo peered out the window of her front chamber, as if the old man had caught a glimpse of something. “Bernardo! They have arrived!” Anesthesia, her mother, said. Her fear was etched all over her lovely face. “W-what are we going to do now?!” Amara’s gaze switched to her mother and father’s. As a child, Amara was unaware of the peril that’s waiting them. “What is going on, Mom, Dad?” Amara pouted. “My love, come here!” said her father. As soon as she approached, her father extended his two arms to her and carried her away. Amara buried her face on his father’s neck. While she was in her father’s arms, her mother’s robe was placed over her. "Please don’t take it away, my love, okay?” Before kissing her child on the back of the head, Anesthesia whispered, “This will help you. I love you. I’ll see you, when I see you.”
