4 We strode back to the camp and found Bee seated on a log munching on some leftover mystery jerky meat. Caius stood nearby with his back leaning against a tree. At his feet was our bag. At our coming he pushed off from the tree and hurried up to us. Caius strode up to Sage and blocked his way to the campsite. A terrible light was in his eyes as he glared down at my grandfather and his voice was as sharp as a snake’s tongue. “Where’s the relic?” Sage smiled up at him. “What makes you think I have it?” “Because you’re the only one who wants it,” Caius pointed out. Sage gestured to me. “Then that makes two of us.” Bee gasped and hurried up to our group. “You didn’t give it to Jane, did you?” Sage frowned. “I gave nothing.
