My heart was heavy after leaving Mia’s house. I hopped inside the car with Candy and told Greg to drive away. Even though I was sad, my hopes were still high. Mia needed a little bit of time, and I would give it to her.
“Rough day, boss?” I heard Greg asked.
Inhaling a deep breath while patting Candy’s head, “Best day ever in the last two years,” I puffingly answered. Honestly, it was the best day ever. I finally met my belle, and I had her in my arms, even just for a while. Though our conversation wasn’t ideal, I would never trade tomorrow for this day.
What mattered to me most was she was here, and I knew even if she left again, she would return to chase her dreams here. All I had to do was wait patiently and show her how serious I was to pursue her.
