“I love you more,” I mumbled before hanging up the phone. I lied to Mia when I said I’d be going for brunch at Ted’s place. Instead, I would go there for lunch, but I’d be heading first to my doctor.
The day I left after speaking with Mia at their family house, I ran to my brother Ted for a piece of advice. I confessed what I did, and fortunately, he was there to listen and understand me.
I told him what Mia said to me that day about us needing a space. That I wasn’t showing my love for her by not trusting and kept thinking ill thoughts about her. Although my brother sided with me, Ted couldn’t agree more with Mia’s words. He was aware of how unwise my action was, and he had already warned me about possible future steps in my relationship with Mia if I didn’t change my way.
