Chapter 7- The door

2427 Words
Mia I was roused up from my sleep by the rays of sunlight slipping through the drapes on the window. It's already morning, and I found myself tangled in blue sheets on someone else’s bed. My mind was still chaotic, so I gave myself another minute to recall everything and at the same time calm myself as I tried to recollect the scenarios of what had occurred. I palmed my head, trying to remember what happened. I was with Rizza, I spoke to Mr. Polanski, a guy who took me away from his office…a guy… ‘what is his name again?’ My brain was trying to recollect everything. ‘Theon…’ my fickle brain whispered. Yes! Theon, I went with him to his birthday party, we had drinks, the girls, another alcoholic shot, dance… and ‘s**t!’. I sat down brusquely, making me jerked in pain. ‘s**t! Ouch!’ I cursed again. Aside from my sore muscles and joints, the pain down south crawled into my body, reminding me of what I did last night. “I…I had s*x with Theon….” I mumbled. He took me from Mr. Polanski and promised he would double the amount that I needed. We partied, we got drunk, we danced, and then kissed, and he brought me here... ‘I just sold myself to him.’ I looked around and found myself alone in the big and empty room. The light blue bedsheets were messy, as if shouting at me about the unholy deed that I just did. Slowly moving my aching body, I rested my foot on the floor. I heaved a deep breath to ease the pain that was taking my whole entity. Then a glass of water on the bedside table piqued my attention. There was an aspirin next to it with a note. I took it and read the message. ‘I know you’re worn out and exhausted, take this… as I promised, the money is already inside your purse in the living room X Theon. I smiled. Theon was right. I was exhausted and tired, plus the sore between my legs just told me how bad it was. I downed the pill and poised myself together. I grabbed my clothes that were now neatly hanging on the chair together with my underwear. Taking them with me, I limped inside the toilet and washed. I scrubbed my whole body as the tears wear non-stop-falling from my eyes. What I did just dawn on me. I felt small and reckless, but then an image of Jen’s smiling face flashed in front of me. ‘I love you, Jen,’ I mumbled as I washed all the bodily liquid and sweat on my body. I dried myself and put on the clothes I had last night. It was gross, but I had no choice. I went out of the room and was greeted with another silence. Theon left me so I must take my leave too. I checked the table in the living room, and I found my clutch and looked at it. Lo and behold, the 100k fresh bundle was inside together with my phone. ‘s**t!’ I saw the time on my phone, it was already noon! I found some miscalls from Jamie and Rizza, but my phone was on the brink of losing its battery. The bar was red, ‘s**t! They might be worried about me. I was about to call back Jamie when it went dead. Another ‘s**t!’ again! I put my shoes on and went straight to the door, I turned the knob, and it won’t open.  ‘Damn!’ I tried to click and turned whatever I could do at the door. I knew how to use it and opened it, but it wouldn’t move. Then I saw a set of numbers on the side. ‘Damn! this door is automated!’ I thought. I pressed random numbers, but it kept declining the password. I gave up, and I’d be stuck here if I kept doing it.  “What the f**k, Theon!  I am locked inside!” I shouted in frustration. Turning around, I sat down on the couch. There was no way to come out of this room unless I jump out of the building or he comes back. I had no phone to use, but an idea arose in my head. I looked around to find a phone charger. I saw he was using the latest iPhone model, and my phone was an old one, but I could still use its charger. There were two rooms in the penthouse, so I checked the other and found it was an office. I looked at his table’s drawer and ‘Alas!’ I saw a lightning cable. I took it with me outside and found an outlet near the kitchen wall. I plugged it in as I sat next to it. My phone opened, and it started ringing. It was Rizza. I answered it right away. “Mia!, Oh my God! Where are you!? Are you okay?” I heard her frantic voice. “Rizza, calm down. I’m fine, I’ll tell you everything, but I am okay,” I answered.  I couldn’t tell her yet where I was. “I saw you with the Mighty Theon last night! Are you okay? I mean, are you with him? What happened to Mr. Polanski’s deal?” Rizza has thrown me questions. I inhaled before answering, “Yes, something happened last night at Mr. Polanski’s office, but I will tell you everything. I am still at his place, and I couldn’t get out. For some reason, his door needs a password.” complaining about the techy door. “Are you safe? I will try to find ways to contact him!” “I am. Oh yes, please, lady!” “Okay, girl, you’ve got to tell me everything!” she said, “Promise?” “Yes! I promise,” “Cool, I’ll try to contact him now,” Rizza confirmed, “Oh, wait, could you please call Jamie or Jen and tell them I’m okay? That I am with you and still sleeping? Or whatever, just tell them I’m safe.” I pleaded, “Okay, I will. I’ll call you back!” Rizza said before hanging up the call. I inhaled and exhaled as I sat down on the floor. My eyes gawked around his place. It wasn’t that big but wide enough for at least twenty people or more to stay at. His dark blue couch was facing a large television with a black and blue coffee table in front. His kitchen was neat and humble, though the breakfast table looked uniquely designed in metal and blue color combination. Very manly place if I could describe it. I heaved another breath as I checked my phone sitting next to me. The soreness in my body has lessened since the medicine had taken its effect. Closing my eyes, I felt my stomach started to rumble in hunger. The only meal that I had was the burger and tequila shots yesterday. It’s past lunchtime, so I checked if Theon had some food on his fridge. I rummaged on his kitchen cabinet and found nothing but coffee and tea. I looked at his fridge, and it was empty except for the apple and cans of beer. There was nothing. Even the freezer was empty. ‘Great! Mia!’ I said to myself, a typical bachelor like him won't stock up food, of course. I grabbed the apple and washed it. I took a bite, but I winced in its sourness. ‘Damn!’ I said as I cringed. I sat down on the couch as I put the apple on the table. I couldn’t eat it. Then questions started to build in my head. Why did he leave me here? I mean, he should’ve wakened me up and told me he was going and I should take my leave too. Plumping my body on the soft pillowed couch, I stared at the ceiling. Although I was drunk and wasted last night, I could still remember some of the vivid moments that transpired between us. The intimate touch at the backseat of the car, the kisses inside the elevator, the endless make-out behind that f*****g door. The way Theon handled me was way beyond what I could fathom. His glare and deep husky words intoxicated me. He made me feel special on my first ever experience, even for a night. We spent the rest of the hours pleasuring each other, and that even I, myself, couldn’t believe what I did and capable of doing in bed. My face blushed in crimson upon recollecting the scenes we had shared. “Argh!” I shrieked, scratching my hair. “Stop, Mia!” I scolded myself as another wave of dismay crossed in my head, ‘You got the money, and Jen is going to live’ I reminded my sanity I was in my deep thoughts and hunger that I didn’t notice I slumbered once again. "Mia..." I felt a slight tap on my face. Someone was shaking and moving me. “Mia…” the voice said, Flickering my eyelids, my eyes met two blue light orbs in front of me. “Wake up…” the voice said once again. My brows furrowed as I narrowed it, then it dawned on me. It was Theon. I jerked up brusquely, making me wince from the pain of my whole body.  I sat up on the couch and looked at him. He was staring down at me. “I’m s..sorry… I couldn’t open the door,” I panicky told him. Theon just smiled at me. “Get up. I brought you foods,” he said, leaving me before heading to the kitchen where there were plastics of a Chinese takeaway. I glanced at the wall clock, and it was already three in the afternoon. “s**t! I need to leave!” I said, standing up, poising and fixing my dress. “Stay here and eat first. I’m sorry I forgot to leave you the passcode,” Theon apologizingly said as he removed the boxes of food from the bag. “No, it’s okay, I got to leave. Jen must be worried about me,” I reasoned out, heading to the door. I looked at him, expecting to follow me to open the door. Theon shook his head, “Sorry, I had an emergency early in the morning, and I just remembered I had no stock up food here, so here I am. I brought you our late brunch.” he elaborately explained. “Thank you, but I can’t stay any longer….” I replied, although I was famished, the tension was making me lose my appetite. “Mia…” he sternly said in his deep manly voice. “I’ll let you out after you eat… I promise,” he added in his most convincing voice. Submitting, I nodded. I perhaps could spare a ten-minute to eat what Theon brought. I walked towards the kitchen and sat on the table. The food was ready and set. “Thank you,” I mouthed as I saw my favorite Chinese noodles. I saw the package, and I knew he bought it from the Chinese restaurant that I loved to go to with Jen. He sat down and started eating too. I silently ate as I didn’t want to open a conversation with him. I saw Theon side-glimpsing at me and couldn’t help but to feel antsy. He must be thinking something that I did last night. ‘Stop!’ I told my fickle brain. I focused on the food so I could leave soon. Soon as I was finished, I stood up and took the bowl on the sink to wash it. “You done?” “Yes, thank you….” I mumbled, washing the dishes. “Great,” he added, standing up and bringing his bowl to me. I looked at him then at his hands with a bowl. “Give it to me, and I’ll wash it….” I said, taking it. Theon smirked at me, and I couldn’t help but feel the butterflies on my stomach. I felt awkward since the reason that I was here was because of our deed. “Thanks,” He said, washing his hand on the other faucet. I placed it on the dish dryer before drying my hands with a kitchen tissue. I walked to the couch to get my purse before heading to the door. I looked at him, and he was again leaning at the table, smirking at me. Theon was dashingly good-looking at his casual blue shirt and jeans. His thick brows truly enthralled me. “The door, please,” He chuckled before walking towards me, “Give me your hand,” he ordered “Why?” I asked, “Just give me,” I raised my left hand, and he held it, “Open,” he directed. Like a robot I was, I opened my palm then Theon scanned it to the palm scanner on the door. “Add your passcode.” I was puzzled. Why was he asking me this as if I had another intention to come back here? “Why?” I asked. “Just put a number on that passcode tab next to you,” He said. The thing he was telling was just above my head. I huffed before pressing four digits. ‘0-4-2-8’ then I pressed enter. It automatically unlocked as I heard a clicked on its knob. Theon opened it wide, smiling at me. “Thank you,” I whispered before making my way out of the door. “You’re welcome, Mia,” he said, closing it. I walked towards the hall to find the elevator. I was about to get in when I remembered something. ‘My phone,’ I mumbled before turning around.
