Me, Larry, and two of my guys were sitting in the car which was parked near a cafe. We saw Peter Cruz coming out of his penthouse and decided to follow him. We'd been waiting for more than two hours and the son of a b***h was still inside. I kept tapping my fingers impatiently on the steering wheel. "Do you think he's meeting up with the 'rat'?", Larry yawned loudly. "Could be", I said. My eyes still fixed to the cafe door. I took a glance from my rear view mirror and saw Andy sleeping soundly at the back seat. And he was drooling too. Nasty. Larry followed my gaze and hit Andy by his chest to wake him up. He looked confused at first but then realized where we were, he sensed my gaze on him and gave me an apologatic look. "Sorry", he muttered as he wiped the corner of his mouth. I rolled my eyes and took my attention back to the cafe door. What the hell is that douche doing there? Me and Valerie still hadn't talked since she knew my secret. I still remembered the sadness and disappointment in her eyes after I told her the truth. "You just lied to me about who you are and you killed people for a living", she sobbed angrily.  "Please give me a chance. Let me show you how much you mean to me", I begged.  "I-I can't. I'm sorry", my heart broke when she said those words as I watched her walking back to the building.  I was snapped out if my thoughts when I felt someone patted my shoulder. "You OK, boss?", Larry asked, concerned filled his eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine", I said clearing my throat then turned my attention back to the cafe. I have to keep my emotion in tact in front of my guys because I'm their f*****g leader. I can't let them see my weak point. It'd look bad for the gang. After sitting there for like ages, the cafe door was opened revealing Peter and he wasn't alone. There was a tall blonde chick wearing a dress that was too tight on the chest area. Peter's hand was wrapped around her butt while the girl was laughing at whatever he said. "Guys", I said and they all went alert following my gaze at Peter who looked too cozy with the chick. The girl whispered something that made the fucker laughed loudly and kissed her deeply on the lips. He smacked her ass making the girl squealed and giggled, kissing him once again which make me want to puke. They walked towards his car then drove off somewhere. We were all dumbfounded to what we just witnessed. Nobody even dared to say something until Larry did. "Please don't tell me that we've been following this douche for nothing", Larry broke out the silence. I hit the steering wheel hard and cursed loudly. I turned on the engine and drove away from the place back to our hotel. I drove like mad man and I could hear my guys' grunts from the back seat but I didn't care. After I have the car parked, I went out and slammed the door loudly making some people looking at my direction. I gave them a death glare and they looked away quickly. I got into my room and locked myself till the rest of the day. We'd been here for 3 days and I still couldn't get anything about the 'rat's intention with The Cruz. I'd been following Peter since I got here and all we got was him screwing different girls everyday. I felt like I was a total failure. I couldn't save my relationship and I couldn't even get my job done. I pulled my hair in frustration and let out a loud groan. I had bad mood lately and I felt sorry for the guys because I kept lashed out on them without any proper reason. I even had been yelling at Larry as well and I rarely did that. I didn't realize how much my breakup with Valerie had effected me which was scaring me a bit. I thought that with Valerie breaking up with me, I could easily forget about it and focused on my job but no, my thoughts always running to her even when I was on my mission. I thought about how she was doing and if she missed me as well. I couldn't believe that me, Sean Winters would be mourning for his relationship. I never do relationship because it was a waste of time and girls usually wanted me for my money. So I just used them to fulfill my needs then kicked them out the next day. But Valerie was different. She didn't ogling me like the others and she had a good heart. I even thought if someone cold blooded like me deserved someone pure like her. She was the light in my life. I stayed seated like that for a few minutes and after I feeling myself getting relax, I reached my phone to call someone. I waited until the other person picked up and sighed in relief when he did. "Hunter, how's everything going?" "Everything's fine here boss. Nothing new. We still keep watching the bar like you instructed us and we'd been searching the whole town for the 'rat' and there was no sign of him here", he exclaimed. He wasn't in Chicago either. So where the hell was he? I pinched the edge of my nose and sighed before speaking. "How's Valerie?", I asked almost in a whisper. "She's perfectly fine. She goes to school then to work everyday and um.. ", he suddenly stopped talking suddenly felt alarmed. "What is it?", I frowned, suddenly felt anxious. Did something happened while I'm gone?  "I saw her the other day with some dude and they left together from an apartment not far from the school. I think it might be the dude's place", he said quickly.I didn't say anything about the information and Hunter seemed hesitant to continue talking. "Uh, boss? Are you still there?", he asked hesitantly. "Keep watching the place and call me if you find something", I said rudely before hanging up. Valerie with another guy? We were just separated not in a week and she already had some toy boy with her? All I could see was red and the thought that she'd been spending time with another guy made me want to kill someone. She is mine and no one touched what's mine. I paced around the room to calm me down but it didn't help. I needed to come back home to win her back. But how about my job? I just spent three days of nothing and just left? What would my guys think about me? You know what? Screw them. I am the boss here and they did as I told them to and if they disobeyed me, I'd put a bullet to their heads. I took out my cell and called Larry. He picked up at second ring. "Larry, tell the guys to pack. We're leaving tonight", I quickly said then hung up, didn't wait for his response. I'll win you back, Valerie. Just wait and see.
