MARIA'S POV
Alex's motorcycle came to a halt in front of the suite's gate, and I gulped. All the things he had said to me before driving here were still playing in my head.
The ride through the road was quiet; none of us spoke as Alex struggled with the fact that he might not get the chance to be close to me that way anymore. I felt really bad and sad for leaving him in that condition.
I mean, I didn't have any feelings towards him, but then that made it even worse because I felt like I was being unfair to him. I still remembered having a huge attraction to Connor, and he made me feel the exact same way I was making Alex feel.
It was a harsh reality I had to face, accepting the fact that I was married now; maybe I could have given him a chance if he had met me earlier.
