MARIA'S POV As Connor spoke, his words felt like a a test on my patience and understanding. How could he expect me to simply brush aside the pain and betrayal of our past? It was as if he believed a few words of apology could erase hurt. "What do you mean, 'grudges from our past'? You expect me to just forget everything you've put me through?"
