MARIA’S POV The wind trapped in the forest swept across my ear with great speed as Alex sped through the woods. He didn't even bother to look back, not even when Arnold was shooting at us. "Hold on to me," he said, urging me to cling tighter to his back as he headed for an elevation. I was so confused about what was really happening, but I couldn't find the right words that needed to leave my mouth at the time. Why was he here? How did he know I was kidnapped? How did he find me? How was he able to rescue me? I mean, I was the same person he rescued, so I should know how he rescued me, but it was still a mystery. The hidden guy who was shooting was definitely not Alex because the shooting still went on actively when Alex arrived and picked me up on his motorcycle. I got interrupted
