Earth: The Second

The Right Person, at the Right Time

When the soldier arrived at the location described by Udeka, they found that the place is already empty. Except for the two tables and one person that standing facing the tables. That man seems focused as a fiery flower and smoke have appeared in front of him.

“What is he doing?” asked one of the soldiers, he realize that person is facing another body, that lying on the table. “That’s the captain!” he screamed.

“Caution! The captain had been held hostage by someone who seems to use fire magic! Raise weapon and save captain, now!” screamed the soldier that is in charge. Because of their lack of technology, they thought that Adma is performing some sort of black magic using fire. 

“Spearmen! Attack!” he screamed. Two soldiers used spears as their weapons getting off their horses. Instead, they run toward Adma who seems so focused on what he is doing right now.

Eventually, two of those spears are piercing through Adma’s abdomen. Both of them expected him to fall to the ground eventually. But outside of a small grunt, he seems so focused on what he is doing.

“What the hell!?” screamed the soldiers. They tried to take off their spears, but for some reason, it won’t budge. As if Adma’s body has captured it, and won’t they get their spear back.

“Go away!” screamed that man finally. “Or Roberto will be dead!”

Actually, Adma meant that he is wanted to save their captain from the wounds. Unfortunately, he chooses the wrong words.

For the soldiers, what he just said is the same as a threat.

“He is going to kill captain! Swordsmen! Follow me and cut this man’s head off!” screamed the soldier. Together with him are four soldiers, attacking Adma at the same time. Their swords and Adma’s body met, and create an impact like two metals meet each other.

One of the soldiers realized that all of their attacks seem useless against the man in front of him. The sight of a man with two spears on his abdomen is unsightly enough, now they face other questions like: how can he not bleed? What is that hand doing, and what is his objective with the captain’s body?

“I said stand down! I’m trying to save him!” screamed Adma.

“Do-Don’t be afraid! Just a little more! Protect the captain!” Screamed the soldier in charge. Again he tried to swing his sword to behead Adma, but the cyborg is irritated enough to finally fight back.

At this moment, Adma’s right hand is a welding arc, halfway of cutting Roberto’s armor. Instead, he caught that blade using his left hand instead.

“Removing a foreign object from the body. Proceed to heal damaged part,” reported Navigator. The two spears that make their way to Adma’s abdomen are slowly pushed back and fall to the ground, startled by both of the soldiers.

Adma finally let out of his attention from Roberto. His left hand is still holding the blade of the sword, as he walked to that one soldier that always commanding to attack him.

“It’s not the time to fight!” Adma slammed that sword to the ground. “Listen! Your captain is wounded by an arrow. He is still alive, but if we don’t act now, he will lose a lot of blood! Do you have bandages and other medicine?” Adma screamed, but that soldier did not answer anything. Apparently, he is too afraid of the person in front of him.

“Damn it! Useless! I need bandages now!” screamed Adma toward the soldiers who are still sitting on their horse.

At this moment, Adma had finished welding Roberto’s armor. That man is still alive, but he is panting and sweating. 

With the c***k of Roberto’s armor, all Adma do now is to open up his armor, especially on the area of the wound. It’s easily done with the strength granted by his cyborg body, and finally, he can see where the arrow is nesting on Roberto’s stomach.

“This can’t be left alone,” said Adma. Minutes have passed since it pierced through Roberto’s organ, and there is always a chance for infection to happen. First, the arrow must be removed, and then the bleed must be stopped.

But to stop the blood, they have to use something to cover up his wounds. Adma is preparing to create modern-style equipment, but before he can do that, a bandage and ointment are handed over to his side.

Those were handed over by a female knight. The lid of his armor is lifted, so Adma himself can see the feminine trait that she has.

“Aya! don’t come near him, he is a devil!” screamed one of them, probably the one soldier that always issuing commands.

“If we don’t help him, the captain will die instead! Is that what you want!?” Screamed the girl. Again, she turned her face to Adma. “What do we have to do?”

“First, the arrow has to go first, this will create a huge pain for Roberto, and the wound will letting out more blood. I need you to hold off the blood until it stopped,” instructs Adma.

“O-okay!” while previously she previously seems gallant with her word, she has clearly seen that she is not as confident as before.

Adma strips a part of his mantle, creates a bundle of fabric, and placed it unto Roberto’s mouth. This is to prevent him to bite his tongue, but the girl just saw what he doing with a questioning face.

“Let’s focus over here right now,” asked Adma. The girl quickly gets a clean white fabric from the health supplies. She dampens it with the ointment and put it around her captain’s wound.

“Do… do you know how to heal people?” asked her, her voice is a little bit trembling.

“I only know the basic,” replied Adma.

Adma’s hand then prepared into the shaft of the arrow. He and the girl exchanged stares.

“One… Two… Three!” following Adma’s cue, the arrow pulled back from Roberto’s stomach.

As expected, a grunt coming out from his muffled mouth, and his whole body tense up because of the pain. The girl quickly covers the wound with the sheet, and presses her hand, to stop the bleeding. Adma is helping too, he placed his hand in front of the girl and keeping it like that for half a minute.

Eventually, Roberto’s heartbeat stabilizes over seconds, and Adma himself can see that he is not panting as hard as before. 

“Now we can bandage him,” said Adma to the girl. And she replied with a nod.

Not far from there, the orphanage is crowded by the people that previously saw the discussion between Udeka and Thomas. All of them have seen how that soldier fell to the ground with an arrow in his stomach.

But none of them feel more restless than Thomas, Jerry, and Risto. They believe that this is one of Udeka’s plans to frame them. Right after this, he must be running to the capital, and say that a village has just killed the captain.

The villagers are gathering at the orphanage’s lawn. Some of them are talking to each other about what will happen after this. The mood itself is gloomy and filled with anxiety. From the inside, Kiki saw the situation, wondered what just happened.

These last few days, she just surrounds herself with books about medicinal plants and went to the forest to gather herbs. Before she knows it, Adma decides to help Jerry to fight against the Duke.

Honestly, she can’t help but feels worried.

“Eeeh? Why we can’t go outside?”

“I wanted to gather mushroom with sister Kiki!” cried the children. The Sisters can only do their best to convince them to play inside instead. 

“Right now, outside is rather dangerous, people outside are hiding from a scary monster instead! These monster’s favorite foods are obedient children!” told Sister Ana to warn the children.

The children are pretending to be afraid, and Kiki smiled seeing them playing like that.

“Is Kiki here? We need healer’s support right now!” screamed someone from the outside. 

When she gets out of the building, Kiki can see Adma together with a group of soldiers. On Adma’s hand, is a body of a man, wounded with a bandage covering his stomach.

“Kiki!” shouted Adma. There is a sound of relief from his voice. “I have stopped his bleeding and covering his wound, but looks like his wound is opened again when we take his armor off. We need your help,” asked Adma.

Kiki then lifts her hand above the man’s wound. She closes her eyes and imagines the mana flow inside her body.

“Heal,” she whispered, imagining that her mana transferred around the patient body, fixing the cells and stopping the infection. 

Finally, Roberto’s face showing a must better condition than before. He is no longer sweating and panting, his eyes are closed, and seems like he is sleeping.

“Thank goodness, you brought him here at the right time,” said Kiki. He feels that man has used all of his energy to hold on to his wound. For now, he needs a lot of rest to regain his strength.

Adma feels relieved, he looked at Thomas, Jerry, and Risto who feels the same.

Now, Udeka can not frame the village, and Roberto himself, who suspecting Udeka now can gather evidence to report back to the capital.

For a moment, everything seems will end happily for them, but at the same time, different things happened at Udeka’s mansion.

A woman in black had just stepped outside from the mansion’s door. Her boots are wet with blood, and so does her face. 

On her hand, is a vial with a red-colored substance on it. She lifts it up and lets it basking the light from the sunset.

“The resurrection has just begun.” whispered that woman to no one. After saying that, she walked past the empty and quiet mansion gate without anyone guarding it.
