Paying The Price

Chapter 6

Kiara P.O.V

I packed my things and left in a cab to Nina's house. I am probably the first person after spongebob to loose three jobs in a day and also to become homeless in that same day.

I got there and knocked on the door, it was Karen that opened the door. I hugged her and she started asking series of questions about why we were staying at Nina's house and not going home.

"Ki is that you" Nina asked from the kitchen. "Yeah" i said walking to her and immediately I perceived the smell of food, my stomach made wild noises.

I had not even put a single drop of water in my mouth since morning and I was starving. We sat down to eat and after eating I put Karen to sleep which was difficult with her various questions.

I explained everything to Nina and she was shocked . "Do you really not know who Mitchell is?" she asked. I nodded my head signaling no and she explained everything to me.

"See Mitchell owns most of the bars, restaurants, and some of the hotels here in New York city and I also heard that he owns this kind of personal organization where he lends people money".

"Oh that is pretty big but is he into any illegal deals" I asked her. "Well non that I have heard of but I will advise you to stay away from him Ki, because he could cause trouble for you" she said. I nodded my head and wished her good night.

Okay now my new plan for tomorrow is to avoid Mitchell, find a new job and get a house with the savings I have.

*Time Skip*

I woke up early in the morning to have breakfast with my sister and Nina. I left Karen with Nina and since today was saturday she didn't have to go to school. I bid them farewell to go Job hunting then house hunting.

It would be difficult to find a decent job given the fact that I am just a high school graduates with no college degree. I walked down the streets having the feeling that someone was following me.

I shrugged off the feeling at first but it was getting too disturbing I turned my head only to see a bunch of heavy men coming towards me with a car right behind them I tried running but they caught up to me fast.

I am completely broke why would they want to kidnap me I thought in my mind. I shouted when they started dragging me towards the car.

"Hey I think you have got the wrong person, my grandma sells snails in her village and I am really broke, so please let me go" I shouted but they weren't even listening to me. I wanted to talk to the again but they blocked my nose with some cloth and every thing suddenly went blank.

*Time Skip*

I opened my eyes and I felt that I was laying on a really soft bed and instead of standing up I turned to the other side completely forgetting the fact that I was kidnapped. "You seem uncomfortable my lady" I heard a voice say, a voice that was getting too familiar.

I jumped of the bed and fell to the floor as memory of what happened this morning came rushing to me. I landed flat on the floor due to the impact of the jump. I turned to where the voice came from and saw the disturbing frog sitting on a chair wearing glasses that made him look hot while reading.

I remembered what Nina told me about him causing me trouble. Did you kidnap me? I asked

"I don't believe i did" he replied still reading his book. I said a quick sorry to my ego before saying "look I know I insulted you and I am sorry for that so please can I go now?"

"I believe we have unfinished business to settle" he said standing up and completely ignoring my apology. Well so much for saying sorry to an i***t like him.

"Your father borrowed some money from me about a year ago and hasn't paid back what he borrowed" he said with all seriousness.

"My father died two years ago, so you will have to tell me how much he owes you and show proof so i can pay it back" I told him.

" I am deeply sorry for your loss and about the amount of money he owes I don't think you will be able to pay with the condition you are in" he said smirking.

What does he mean by that? I am in this condition because of him and every problem I have traces back to him one way or the other. "What do you mean" i said glaring at him.

"I mean your grandma only sells snails in her village and you are broke" he said making my face turn to pink. "Well back to business" he continued looking so serious again
