Paying The Price

Chapter 9

Kiara P.O.V

"No way"

"Michell please can I see you in private" I told him. He stood up and walked to a corner and I followed right behind him. "Look I know I owe you and I promise to pay you back but please let me go, i can't leave my little sis alone" I told him.

"She can stay here as well" he said walking away. I stood there thinking about everything and how I was homeless and jobless. What was even the possibility of me getting any job any time soon so I made up my mind to accept the job offer.

"I accept but please can I go for now I need to get to my sister she must be worried about me by now" i said and I saw him nod. "But your do..." I was saying when he cut me of "they have already been taken care of" he said

*Time Skip*

I got home and explained everything to Nina, but she looked bothered. "Ki are you really sure about this". "Well it is better than staying in jail till God knows when".

When Karen asked me I just told her we would be relocating to where I would be working. When we got there and I knocked on the main gate and I was shocked when Mitchell himself opened the gate.

"Hi Karen" he said waving at my little sis. How did he know that her name is Karen. "Hey Mitch" Karen said in her tiny little voice. I look lost, it feels like i am the only person who dosent know Mitchell.

Common Karen it is time for lunch" he said dragging her in and leaving me there. I was left alone to carry the bags. I saw a man pass by and I stopped home him asking him for directions considering the place was huge.

He showed me the way and I thanked him walking away. I got in and I saw Karen and Mitchell at the dining table. I think that has been her biggest smile since her father died.

*Cough*. They turned to look at me and I asked "where is the maids quarters?". "Karen you stay here and continue your food and I will be back" he said walking towards me. He carried one of the bags and moved upstairs and I followed right behind him

He walked towards the place where he kept me this morning but when he opened the door, the room looked completely different from what I saw this morning. The room looked more girly. I walked in and dropped my bag and Karen's bag but he picked Karen's bag and started walking outside.

"What are you doing" I asked but he said nothing to me. I ran after him and noticed that he opened another door which was just beside the other. Why would he do this for the people who owed him money, I wondered.

He dropped the bag and was about to walk out when I said " Why are you not saying anything to me" but he said nothing and still continued walking towards the door. I dragged him back but he ended up falling on me and then I landed on the bed due to the impact.

Just then a voice said "What are you guys doing". I tried pushing him but he wasn't moving a muscle. I tried again by pushing him on the chest but then another voice which I recognize to Karen's said "Aunt Ki".

It looks like that brought him back to his senses because he stood up immediately. "We we-re ehm testing the bed" I said stuttering. "Right?" I asked looking at Mitchell for back up.

"Yeah we were testing how strong the bed is for you" he said feeling embarrassed
