' But anyway, this place isn't half bad... Smells great too' Ash shifted his attention to the room, looking around while subconsciously sniffing in some of the delicious aroma in the place. He tried as much as he could to push his hunger pangs away for now. " I must ask though, are you in some sort of trouble?" Jinx asked as she took a moment to finish the Taco she was making. She was more concerned as to why Ash was in such a haste to leave for Ravenpeak, and she didn't think that it was only for closure as he'd mentioned the previous night. Such a story was barely believable even for her. Ash hearing this tensed up and instantly moved his gaze to meet Jinx's. He was silent for a while, looking as guilty as a thief in the daylight. " Not really, but I might be in trouble if I don't get to my dad as soon as I can." He stated in an exasperated sigh after. ' Hmm' Jinx paused to think while still peering an inquisitive gaze at Ash. She placed her hands on the kitchen island to support her weight and leaned forward to press on. Seeing that Jinx wasn't satisfied and wouldn't let up, Ash decided to confess his entire story, " You see, after my mother's death, I found myself in a couple of debts. I have nowhere to go so I figured I could as well look for the one person I have left in the world." He looked down as he spoke in a melancholic tone, quite a way off from the domineering attitude he portrayed the previous night. " is that so..." Jinx muttered in thought to herself, placing her finger to her chin. In any case, she understood Ash however complex his situation seemed. ' The debt situation was like a catalyst that pushed him to the corner, leaving him without an option but to seek out the one thing he's been trying to avoid. He's just like me as I've thought....' Jinx realized this and didn't press any more. She picked up the plates that she'd dished hers and Iris' breakfast in to join them in the living room. Getting to the sofa, Jinx placed Iris' plate in front of her and sat beside her to have her breakfast, but the latter didn't even act like she saw anything. Jinx didn't mind this and just continued to have her meal anyway. Amidst this, she fell in thought, ' If we're going to leave for Ravenpeak today, it's better that we leave early. Besides, we'll be needing something fast to get us there' Jinx thought to herself while gobbling down the tacos. Although not too perfect, it was still delicious and edible. Save for the sound of munching that came from Jinx afterwards, there was nothing but silence. Utter silence! Ash who sat across the pair of ladies on the other side just looked to the side, trying his best to not show his desire for some of those delicious tacos on his face. He realized it was a bit too awkward being the third person in the room, and thus he decided to try and clear the air in the room by striking a conversation. " So um... How do we get there?" he decided to ask the most obvious question. Although Ravenpeak wasn't quite too far from Paxon heights, Ash knew he wouldn't have needed to ask for Jinx and Iris's help if he could find his way to his father so easily. Ravenpeak is just a small town on the other side of the woods, but the problem is, the woods were rumored to be full of dangerous creatures. And being new to the supernatural world, Ash couldn't risk going it alone. Not that he could find his way through the woods to Ravenpeak anyway. Hence, why he was willing to pay for Jinx's help. Hearing this, Iris raised her gaze from her phone to look between Ash and Jinx. The more she heard about them leaving, the more frustrated and angrier she got. Jinx put down her plate and looked to the floor in thought for a second. She had also been thinking about this for a while now, and she has already come up with something." I have an idea". Jinx calmly informed, but Ash was left confused. Instead of explaining herself, Jinx picked up her empty plate and rose from her seat to return them to the kitchen since she was finished with her meal. She went into her room to change from her comfy nightwear into a black slim-fit faux zip-up leather jacket that clung onto her tightly, some tight fitting pants and a pair of boots to match. Jinx looked stunning and wild! Walking out of her room, Ash couldn't help but stare in slight awe at how curvy and sexy Jinx looked. Jinx didn't pay attention to this at all and just grabbed a glass of water on her way out. " I'll be right back," she said in passing to Ash as she walked out. However, just as she shut the door behind her, she halted when she realized something. She just left Iris all alone with Ash- a stranger! Realizing her mistake, she quickly turned around to go back in, only to pause when she reached for the doorknob. She hadn't the idea what to do! Was she to tell Ash to leave and return later? Or was she to bring Iris with her and leave Ash all alone in their house? While the former seemed plausible, it was just as dumb enough since Ash could come back without her knowing once she was gone if he really meant to harm Iris. How was she to protect Iris then? Although she was already betraying Iris, Jinx couldn't allow herself to bring her harm from what she was getting herself involved with here. Regarding the other choice, Jinx just couldn't take it for obvious reasons. One was because she didn't want Iris knowing what she was about to do, and second, she couldn't leave Ash all alone in their apartment. At this moment, Jinx felt like she was in one of those situation where a boatman has to take a lion, a goat, and grass across a river in a small boat, and he could only take one of them at a time. A simple yet puzzling situation! " Fuushhh! I'm the fastest man alive" Just then, Jinx noticed a kid standing in the hallway while playing with an action figure of ' The Flash'. It was her neighbor's son who seemed to be in his early teen, probably thirteen. After a short while of falling in thought, Jinx came up with an idea and moved to approach the kid.
