The surrounding area goes silent at Kira’s words. There’s a mixture of shock, disbelief, and plain old amusement. To think that someone like Kira has challenged a sitting Alpha for anything, let alone the two things that mean the most.
The crowd watches as Isis moves closer to Kira. Kira holds her ground, but it’s the little things that tell those watching that she isn’t as sure of herself as she’s trying to seem. Her hands tremble at her sides, and her heartbeat has increased exponentially. There’s a light stench of fear emanating from her, and many have already breathed it in. “Are you sure this is what you want, little girl?
