Jaspar soon took over Stock Real Estate Ltd. and represented his father at the latest AGM. This was definitely big news, Axell had been at the helm of Stock for over thirty years and he had not missed any important meetings in that time.
The reporters pressed the shutter frantically after Jaspar appeared, flashing lights kept flashing and microphones were passed high, they had gotten the news of his father's hospitalization long time ago, and it would be better if they could get confirmation from him. But he indifferently swept a glance at these media who were excited for the breaking news, and then he turned around and entered the company building.
His uncooperative behavior did not detract from the fact that the front page headlines for the past month would revolve around Stock Real Estate and the Stock father and son, of which Jaspar's bust was always placed in the most prominent place in the news media as a key figure.
This was where the attention was focused on the important leadership changes that were likely to affect the price of the company's stock. At the same time, there was a special focus on him, a rookie who had never been involved in the real estate industry before. Would he be able to continue his father's success, or would he lead Stock to its downfall?
Jaspar, who had just finished another round of meetings, swiped through the news screen a few times and turned his phone off again. He rubbed his eyes tiredly as he gave up on his old life. Managing a huge family business was so draining that he not only gave up all his hobbies, he was on the verge of emptying himself out.
He didn't really care about the comments in the newspapers and magazines, and when he first started racing he had a lot of people commenting that he was just looking for a new hobby to spend money on, but he took several stage wins, he kept setting his best times, and he earned people's respect with his efforts. So this mountain would eventually be climbed by him too, just like every other time before.
Ila called him and asked if he would be home for dinner today, and Jaspar thought for a moment that it had been a long time since he had eaten with his family, so he promised his mother that he would be home today.
He drove home at night and saw a pink Lamborghini parked in the garage. He was puzzled for a moment, was Alice actually staying home today?
He had seen very few of his sister since she had entered puberty. She must be living in a penthouse downtown and enjoying herself with her so-called sisters. She had many ideas about her life, but none of them were trustworthy. Her initial dream of being a model was soon dashed, and then she wanted to continue running her self-publishing account and become an internet celebrity.
Almost all of her ideas along with her penthouse apartment required a massive pile of money that Alice certainly didn't earn, nor her stock dividends or trust fund, but rather an allowance from her father and mother, who thought their baby girl could get a constant supply of whatever she wanted from them as long as she was still in school.
His father was successful enough and his mother was intelligent enough, but they both coddled their daughter to the point of making a fatal mistake.
Sure enough, Jaspar met Alice at the table and she was already seated, though she didn't take her eyes off the phone she was holding. He didn't care about that, he went ahead and hugged his mom. Ila seemed to be in pretty good shape, both of her kids would be with her for dinner tonight, and her husband was recovering nicely and had now left for the hacienda to recuperate.
"Mom, why is my card set to a limit?"
The maid had just started serving and Jaspar had just cut a steak, but his sister was talking about a topic that wasn't really appropriate.
He put down his knife and fork because now he was the leader of the family, "You should have stopped asking your parents for money a long time ago, what about your scholarship and income? Isn't it enough for you to study?"
Alice widened her beautiful eyes, her thick eyelashes doubling their size, which looked very strange to him in this outfit.
"You're the one who deducted my living expenses, right? Don't you think I don't know that you promoted some people not named Stock to manage our family's company, but turned against your own people! Aunt told me everything, you want to withhold money from us! Are you going to be abandoned your family?"
Jaspar felt tired, but he was still trying his best to make this clear with his sister, "I don't know what aunt told you, but you take the money your father earns but don't have to do anything and then eat and drink all over the world, now I'll tell you, your easy life ends here, after that you either go to work for the company or go out earn money on your own!"
"Mom! Look at him, what he's saying!" Alice cried and screamed as she tried to get help from her mother.
Ila looked at her daughter, who was still as childish as ever and had no choice but to cry and scream after a minor setback in her life, and then turn to her parents for help.
"You need to listen to your brother, he's doing it for your good."
"For my good?" Alice's voice became shrill, "Daddy is just sick and he bullies us like this, what if one day Daddy is gone? Is he going to throw us out?!"
"Alice!"
Jaspar and Ila simultaneously chastised the innocent and vicious child who, with her words and imagination, had dismissed the family.
But Ila also felt powerless, she could only watch her daughter run out of the house, she couldn't discipline her anymore.
Yes, that's what hurt Jaspar the most, his aunt who had a share of the company's stock but didn't have to work, and his uncles and cousins. He needed to promote the people who could help him, while keeping the others quiet.
He sat down slowly and tried to calm down the factor that made him physically furious. His sister had hurt his heart, but she had also given up her accomplice, their father's little sister, their Aunt Kara. He already had it in his mind what to do.
"I'm sorry, my boy, Alice was spoiled by us."
Jaspar certainly didn't blame his mother for all the misfortune, "No need to apologize, Mom, I'll take care of it."
The dinner could go on, and although both people at the table had their own preoccupations, neither of them let the other find out.
Jaspar threw himself into his busy schedule, and many things he could just forget about for a while.
He suddenly realized that his personality had also changed a lot after he took over the company, and that the anger in him was growing, and that irritability and experience were not contradictory, he could work calmly, but he could feel the feeling in his heart that he was repressing himself, and that this repression was likely to rebound at any time, in a way that he could not afford.
Maybe he was born to race, to roam the thrilling tracks, he was stuck in his office with his last name, and he thought of that woman again.
To be honest he had been sending people to look for her for a long time, but there were too few clues to find her in a sea of people.
Jaspar had a rare free weekend and he met up with his friend from the race track at the bar. He asked his friend about the open house and was expecting the woman to come back to the track on the next open house.
Declan was surprised at his persistence, after all, he remembered that Jaspar was not such a person who treated his relationship in this way, he was busy with the race or work, break up was break up, he would not have any retention. But this woman he met only once, let him not give up until now.
"Did you really fall in love? How beautiful that woman has to be to make our Mr. CEO not give up after more than three months."
"I didn't fall in love with her, but she stole my clothes, and I just want to know why she did that to me."
Declan was puzzled, he thought his friend's attitude was very strange, "She stole your clothes? Valued it?"
"No," Jaspar's eyes scanned the young woman's face on the dance floor, expecting an almost impossible event to happen, "I don't care, I just want to ask her why she left like that."
Jaspar drove back to his villa, his headlights sweeping across the doorway, illuminating the back of a woman.
Could it be her?
