What Have I Gotten Myself Into?

1074 Words
Eva POV Loaded down with bags of gowns and shoes, Tyler is driving us girls to our apartment complex so that we can get ready for dinner. Once he pulls up in the circle drive, and places the truck in park, he jumps out and quickly maneuvers to my door, pulling it open for me and holding his hand out to assist me in exiting. I place my hand in his and feel the electric current zap through my entire being. Celeste gently chirps in my mind in contentment.  As soon as my feet touch the ground I look into Tyler’s eyes, as he slowly brings my hand up to his mouth to place a gentle kiss. “I will be here at 7 to pick you up.” His low, deep voice triggers a shiver down my spine. “I will see you then.” I respond, my voice barely a rasp.  Tyler smiles at me and releases my hand, before I grab my bags and step towards the apartment doors and input the code, Ivy and Lily coming up behind me.  “I’m going to shower, then grab my things and meet you two at your flat.” Ivy says before dashing to the stairs for her third floor apartment. Lily and I opt to take the elevator to the 8th floor where we reside. We set our bags down and each go to our bedrooms which have their own private bathrooms, there is also a half-bath for guests next to the kitchen.  I turn the water on to a hot temperature, and begin to undress as steam fills the shower. I make haste with washing and conditioning my hair and body as we only have about an hour before the men will return. Once completed, I turn the shower off and step into my plush bathrobe, and wrap my hair up in a towel. I brush my teeth then get to work applying a light layer of bronzer to my cheeks, a soft neutral shimmer to my eyelids and finish off the look with a dark mascara. I towel dry my hair and scrunch some curl defining mousse and add a spritz of hairspray to help hold the natural curls as they cascade down my back.  Ivy bursts into our apartment while calling out “Honey, I’m Home!” “Lily, did you forget to lock the door?” I call back in jest. “Eva, did you forget Ivy had a key.” Lily laughs.  “Bah, you’re right. Whose idea was that anyway?” I roll my eyes.  “Oh shush and get over here so we can get you into this dress.” Ivy scolds me. The dress did not make itself easily available, in fact I almost put it back on the rack due to the difficulty I had in shimmying into it the first time, but the look on Tyler’s face made me change my mind quickly. Ugh... why should I even care what he thinks? He’s a wolf... and as I’ve said over and over, we never trust wolves, with the exception of Lily.  “You’re fighting a losing battle, dear.” Celeste chirps in my head as I step into my evening gown right before Ivy begins tugging it up my body. It’s a good thing I’m lean without significant curves or this would be impossible.  After my gown is in place, Ivy moves to help Lily finish straightening her short bob to perfection, before they don their own gowns. The buzzer rings to the apartment and Ivy excitedly pounces on it “Hellooo?” She says in a sing-song voice. “Good evening, Miss Ivy, Austin here. We are downstairs and eager to take our mates out on our first official date.” Lily’s cheeks flush at the sound of Austin’s voice over the intercom. “We will be right down!” Ivy squeals, disconnecting the button a little prematurely in her excitement. “Come girls! Let’s go get wined and dined!” Ivy begins tugging at Lily’s arm, and they exit the apartment. I, being the only rational one tonight apparently, grab all three of our Coach wristlet bags we chose for the night, and follow the girls out, locking the apartment behind me. “Come on, Eva!” Ivy calls for me as they hold the elevator doors open. I roll my eyes but pick up my pace. We ride down to the main floor, and I let the other two girls exit ahead of me, when I see them freeze and gasp.  A sense of urgency washes over me and I rush forward looking for danger, only to see the most sleek and shiny black limo parked in the circle drive with three of the most delicious men standing outside, making even Armani models pale in comparison. My eyes lock with the steel gray ones of Tyler and my heart does a backflip in my chest. Oh Goddess, what have I gotten myself into? “Eva?” Ivy’s hand is waving in front of my face. I quickly snap out of my daze. “Oh there you are, welcome back to earth.” Ivy grins at me before linking her arm in mine, “Come on, Princess, our Knights await.”  Stepping through the glass doors Ivy gives me a slight nudge towards Tyler before she practically skips into Derik’s open arms. Lily is already climbing into the Limo with Austin.  “Knights, huh?” Tyler smirks with a raised eyebrow. I raise my hands in defense, “Hey that was Ivy’s word, not mine.” I reply. “Hm, and what would your word entail?” Tyler says c*****g his head to the side. “Villains in disguise?” I shrug. A deep rumbling laugh breaks out from Tyler’s chest. “I prefer Knight.” He then bows to me, extending his hand, “Come malady, let me escort thee to dinner,” he says in a playful faux British accent. I can’t help but laugh as I place my hand into his, shivering at the electric currents through our contact, as I allow him to help me into the limousine.
