“Have you heard about the recent killings?” Jane leaned towards Hara and whispered it to her.
They were in a library which the three said they must observe silence all the time.
To which Akiesha doesn’t make any sense.
Ugh humans and their ridiculous rules.
At least, not as ridiculous as theirs.
Akiesha continued her senseless scribbles in a paper while eavesdropping on the three’s topic.
“Yes, already five people were killed just this week. Plus, they were all killed gruesomely, heads hacked off from their necks, bodies drained of blood and hearts missing. The serial killer must be a lunatic.” Hara replied in a very low voice.
Akiesha smiled silently.
If only those people didn’t get on her way or tried to mess with her then maybe they were all still alive right now.
She involuntarily licked her lips at the memory of the smell of fresh blood and meat.
Good thing everyone inside the library were all absorbed in whatever they do, no one notices Akiesha’s suspecting actions.
“My father even said that this is the first time they have such a case like for a very long time already.” Jane stated then leaned her head closer to Hara and Shenna and uttered the next words audibly. “What baffles them is usually serial killers moved from state to state to perform their murder but this one is different. They never heard any reports from neighboring state any murder that resembles with the way this serial killer killed his victims. That means, the serial killer’s first state to perform his horrendous actions was here, in our state.” Jane said and shivered slightly out of fear.
Hara gasped aloud, covering her mouth to avoid creating loud noises.
Akiesha chose to stay silent and acted like she’s busy doing their supposed schoolwork.
Akiesha intently looked at Shenna and tried to see any reaction from her.
Shenna looked at Hara, Jane and then, her.
“My grandma said that the one doing the killings was actually a demon.” Shenna blurted out loud enough for them to hear.
“A demon?” Akiesha acted out like she was surprised.
Her Dada said to her that humans believed that demons were just a myth.
So, she was surprised that Shenna mentioned her ‘kind’.
I should be really more careful when I’m around with this Shenna.
“Yes, a demon. People believed that it was just a myth but my grandma said she believes that demons are real and were just hiding from our sight after Anduroy defeated a demon named Dayabushka.” Shenna added with a hint of proud on her face.
“Do you actually believe that?” Akiesha with a hint of annoyance on her voice asked Shenna.
Shenna looked at her in confusion. “What? That demons exist? I know, this is quite hard to believe -”
“No, I mean, do you believe that Anduroy really defeated Dayabushka? A mere human fighting a demon and won the fight? I’m not buying that one.” Akiesha smoothly reasoned out.
Thankfully, Akiesha was able to come up with a good reason that won’t make her appear too worked up with the idea that a human actually defeated Dayabushka.
The three looked at her dubiously.
“Well, according to my grandma, it wasn’t just Anduroy who defeated Dayabushka that time -”
Akiesha raised her hand in front of Shenna to stop her from saying anything.
Someone caught her eyes.
She stood up abruptly – her chair creating noise.
Akiesha started walking fast towards the figure – her fist curled up.
I won’t let the jerk get away from me again without getting my revenge.
With one swift move, Akiesha’s punch landed on the guy’s face.
Her punch so strong that the guy was thrown up away from his chair.
The guy looked so surprised and looked at her as if she was crazy.
On Akiesha’s peripheral sight, everyone in the library were looking at her, frozen on their seats.
“What the hell?” The guy finally said and rose to his feet.
Akiesha crossed her hands on her chest and scoffed at him. “Oh yes, I am really hell. That’s what you get from messing up with me.”
The guy looked even more confused. “I don’t even know what you’re talking about. I have no idea who you are and why you suddenly punched me.”
The audacity! Akiesha tried to throw one more punch on the guy when someone yelled behind her.
“You two, you have both detention after school. Do you understand me?” a woman in her 50’s wearing eyeglasses same with Hara pointed her and the guy.
Akiesha had no idea what’s detention and she doesn’t care about it.
The woman is clearly telling her to stop doing a scene but who’s she to stop her?
However, the three were able to drag her outside the library – everyone’s eyes on her.
For a moment, Akiesha stared at the guy’s ocean-blue eyes shooting daggers on her.
Oh right, what is detention again?

4:30 PM | Hara, Jane and Shenna dragged her again towards their school’s football field when she accidentally told them that she’s planning on ditching the detention since it was just a waste of time.
“You can’t just ditch Mrs. Agustina’s detention Kiesh” Shenna calmly told her while they were walking towards the field. They were calling her that way already that they call as nickname.
Just a way to shorten someone’s name.
“She was called a beast for a reason.” Shenna finished and pulled her bag pack closer.
Akiesha’s eyes widened. “Was she an ancient beast?”
The three stopped on their pace and stared at her if she was serious. When they feel like she was indeed serious with her question, the three burst out in laughter.
“Beast was just a moniker the students of Monteray called Mrs. Agustina because of how she strictly implements school rules. She’s the Dolores Umbridge of our school.” Hara replied.
Akiesha looked even more confused.
“And who’s this Dolores Umbridge, was she a beast too?” Akiesha genuinely asked. She didn’t know humans were acquainted with beasts.
Beasts are less evil than Akiesha’s kind.
Beasts can also take into human forms.
Akiesha innocently thought.
“I can’t believe you’re really THAT uncultured Akiesha, it’s a Harry Potter reference. Never mind, let’s go or else Mrs. Agustina will really turn into a beast literally.” Hara pouted and began walking along with the two.
Akiesha was left dumbfounded.
What does she mean with ‘uncultured’. Ugh, humans are too complex to understand.

I hate this!
How dare that beast told her to clean a huge field along with this asshole.
I am Akiesha for pete’s sake! The demon that was foretold to take over the surface once she will defeat whoever human that is.
“You! Don’t just stand there and start sweeping the field. It’s your fault in the first place why we’re here.” The guy pointed at the broom she just threw on the ground.
She raised her eyebrow. The audacity!
“Maybe if you didn’t bump on me during the first day and walked out like nothing happened then I might not be holding any grudges against you.” Akiesha spat on him.
Eye to eye, they both were shooting daggers at each other.
Her hazelnut brown eyes contrasting his ocean-blue eyes.
No one wanted to break the staring fight.
But the guy gave up first.
“Alright, I’m sorry if I really did bump on you. That was an accident for sure. But, believe me, I never remembered bumping to someone in the first day because I didn’t attend the first day.” The guy explained.
His expression is now calm.
Akiesha pouted. “You’re just making excuses. I saw you twice on the first day.” Akiesha yelled at him.
Then, Akiesha realized something. She never saw the man’s face, only its back.
But why is it when I saw him on the library earlier, I had the intuition that it was him.
The strong urge to punch him was enough to affirm her suspicion, right?
“Alright, alright if that can make you sleep tonight. Okay, I admit it and I’m sorry, so can we already finish this?” The guy softly said. He picked up her broom and gave it to her.
Akiesha was confused as hell why his soft voice actually calmed her down.
She even took the broom and smiled at the asshole.
“I’m Gilbert by the way.” The guy smiled, showing his white pearly teeth; introduced himself and offered his hand to her.
Akiesha took it and returned the smile. “Akiesha”, she shortly said.
When Gilbert took away his hands, Akiesha had the sudden urge to resist.
She stared at the guy.
Truth to be told, Akiesha finds Gilbert handsome. He also seemed to be genuine.
They both continued sweeping the field again with Gilbert trying to converse with her.
“So? What brought you here?” Gilbert suddenly asked that left Akiesha frozen on her place.
What does he mean by that?
Does he know what she’s up to?
And if he did? She can just kill him right away.
“What do you mean by that?”
He stopped and rested his left arm on the broom. “This town was just small Akiesha, we basically know everyone living in this neighborhood and this is the first time I saw you here. So, why moved in here? Are you with your family? Living alone?” Gilbert shoots him series of questions.
Akiesha was caught-off guard with the question. She raised her eyebrows at him. “It’s none of your business!” Akiesha yelled defensively.
Gilbert let out a laugh before he looked at her. “Whoa, no need to be angry. I completely understand you don’t want to answer that. I was just trying to get to know you. Anyway, we’re done here already. It’s about to get dark, you should be careful on your way home, there are reports of series of killings in this area.” He said then started walking away.
An amused smile appeared on Akiesha’s face while looking at his retreating form.
I guess, I’m not going to kill Gilbert anytime soon.
